True Blood (S7E05) - "Lost Cause" - 7/20/14

Exhausted from her recent travails, Sookie finds herself the unwilling host of a festive mainstreaming party in Bon Temps. In search of an elusive adversary, Eric and Pam head to Dallas and attend a gala fundraiser. Andy (Chris Bauer) makes a life-changing decision; Jessica and James reach a crossroads; Bill loses himself in remembrance of human days.

Written by Craig Chester; directed by Howie Deutch.

Other than Jason telling Andy and Holly's kids that if they were fucking it needed to stop now and Jessica's side boob this episode was back to the usual.

I guess that means Eric will definitely be finding a cure for the virus now, presumably with Sarah Newlin's help. There's no way they kill off both Bill and Eric.

I found everything that didn't involve Eric and Pam nearly unwatchable this week.

I actually thought this was by far the best episode of the season so far. "Is Laura Bush here?" Natalie Hall and Anna Camp stole this episode for sure.

But it's looking more and more inevitable that Vampire Sookie is gonna save the day imho.

Two good episodes in a row. Maybe this thing can finish out strong.

I'm not saying they will, but why not? It's the last season.

True Blood isn't that depressing of a show. I just have to think they're going to try to serve the fans in the end. In no way does that mean everyone will like the ending, I just think they're going to try for at least a somewhat positive ending.

If this show has to waste four episodes getting rid of effing Terry Bellefleur then it's not taking out both Eric and Bill.

Does anyone know if the Hep-V stuff was from the books or just made up for the show?

Everything plot wise from the past 3 to 4 seasons has been made up for the show, including the idea of 'hep-v'

This. I liked some stuff with Lafayette and Jason, but really if it wasn't Eric and Pam, this episode was horrible.

Why are we getting these Bill flashbacks? They don't remotely fit into anything at all.

Seems like they are trying to tie up popular relationships with sookie/bill, Pam/Eric & jason/Jessica

Re: True Blood (S7E05) - "Lost Cause" - 7/20/14

I didn't think this was a particularly good episode...other than seeing Deborah Ann Woll's naked body double, tricking me for a second that it might be her.

Boy, the Bush Library has horrible security. If the former President was going to be there, Secret Service would be all over the place - instead, there's a couple of security guards.

The flashbacks with Bill were stupid and pointless.

Who was it that said last week (or a couple weeks back) that Sookie's blood will probably be a cure for Hep-V? That's a pretty good theory right now. Of course, Eric will die and Bill will be saved. Eric is almost certainly as good as dead, since you can't leave any possible romantic interests alive for Sookie EXCEPT for Bill - otherwise fans will claim she wound up with the wrong guy.

Re: True Blood (S7E05) - "Lost Cause" - 7/20/14

I thought the last blood Bill drank was Sookie's. That would mean that she's tainted. I originally thought that Sookie would be turned and somehow her Fey/Vamp blood would be a cure but now I don't think it'll go any deeper than Sarah having a cure readily available and using it to bargain for her life. It won't save her but will save Bill. I think Eric is ready to go for some reason and will go out on his terms. All speculation on my part.

Re: True Blood (S7E05) - "Lost Cause" - 7/20/14

I hope Eric & Pam don't die. They are what I am still mainly watching for at this point. They are the A game as far as I am concerned, save them, kill Bill please.

Of course, I doubt that the writers will care, but still.

I do have this fear that Eric's going to have to make a choice again to save someone he loves, and he is going to choose himself dying. That would suck.

I thought it was a decent ep. I Did feel the Bush Library Massacre was some convenient fan-service BS. But I still liked the way Pam and Erik infiltrated the venue.

-I really figured Lafayette would be the "catcher"...goes to show you never know.
-Jessica looks as hot as ever.
-I'm like Pam at this point...TIRED OF SOOKIE and all the drama she brings.
-Curious what Alcide's dad is up to after spying on Sookie's convo in the bedroom. I really though he was going to hear her say she didn't really love Alcide like she told Bill.

I was the one that originally stated that. Seems like a pretty strong possibility, strengthened by Bill's flashback I think.

I took it that Alcide's dad was the one who put the coat on the bed at the end that Sookie curled up in, after overhearing Arlene talk about doing the same thing.

Absolutely! Though I didn't mind Jessica's side-boob.

Caught up this season

None of the flashbacks have been any useful at all this season

Eric's kill at the end was cool but otherwise, another fairly boring episode

I just feel this is a 40 min show stretched to over 50 mins

the lack of a big bad in this final series is showing

Does James Cameron get royalties for the Eric/Sarah scene?

Re: True Blood (S7E05) - "Lost Cause" - 7/20/14

Ugh.

The wake reminded me of one of those horrible, endless parties that you work hard to politely leave without offending the host...kind of a metaphor for the way this season is going. Having a hard time remembering what originally drew us to the series in the first place...have no plans to buy this season or last one. Shades of Dexter's last couple of seasons.

Love Anna Camp...at least the show picks up whenever Sarah's character appears. The rest of the plotlines are just rehashes of what's gone before or predictable storylines.

This show is slowly bleeding out. Hopefully, something big is going to happen soon.

Most people actually have immense dislike for those two pairings. Majority of the audience wants Sookie / Eric & Hoyt / Jessica to end up together.

I miss Hoyt Fortenberry.

Eric and Sookie, yes. I Think the audience is pretty over Hoyt and would love Jason and Jess together.
