You're The Worst (FX) - Season 1 Thread - Thursdays starting 7/17/14

Comedy You're the Worst makes its series debut Thursday, July 17 at 10:30 PM ET/PT immediately following Married. You're the Worst, from Stephen Falk, stars Aya Cash (The Wolf of Wall Street), Chris Geere (The Spa), Kether Donahue (The Carrie Diaries), and Desmin Borges (The Good Wife). You're the Worst is a comedic love story about what happens when two toxic, self-destructive people (Cash and Geere) fall in love despite themselves and attempt the impossible - a relationship. You're the Worst was created by Falk, who wrote the pilot and serves as Executive Producer/Showrunner. The show is produced by FX Productions. FX has ordered 10 episodes of You're the Worst for its first season to air Thursday nights at 10:30 PM ET/PT.

I thought it was hilarious in a raunchy sort of way. Like the early seasons of Californication.

^ same here. Pleasantly surprised by both this and Married. I gave the slight edge to this show. Definitely not what I was expecting from the previews.

Loved this, the girl in it was great. I liked it better then Married too.

That is a great call, it is highly reminiscent of Californication. This was a fun episode and I like the two leads, though I didn't think much of the guy's roommate/friend as future comedy gold.

FX pushed past their current standards and practices with the sex scenes. Those would have netted the show an R-rating if it were a movie.

In general FX has been on a role with shows. The Strain isn't there yet but their others (Bridge, Americans, Louie, Always Sunny, Legit, American Horror Story, Fargo, etc; ) have all been quality programs.

wasn't planning on watching this, but with all the positive things i've read, i'll start watching. they are reairing the pilot later after the 2nd episode airs.

I also just watched episode 1.

I was pretty surprised by some of the graphic depictions of sex. They are really pushing the limits.

I thought it was alright. The 2 leads don't really have any chemistry, but I guess that's the whole point. 2 miserable people who come together somehow. Chris Geere came across as pretty douchey.

2nd episode wasn't quite as funny, but there were still a ton of good lines. the discussion about the period was fantastic.
