True Blood (S7E01) -- Season Premiere -- "Jesus Gonna Be Here" -- 6/22/14

A band of rogue H-vamps crashes the vampire-human mixer at Bellefleur's, with shocking results. As Sookie (Anna Paquin) seeks refuge from accusations that she's somehow to blame for the chaos in Bon Temps, the "one vampire for every human" plan moves forward. In the face of a vigilante insurrection led by redneck Vince (Brett Rickaby), Bill (Stephen Moyer) receives aid from an unexpected source.

Written by Angela Robinson; directed by Stephen Moyer.

10 episode Final season

Surprised to find out that this will be just a 10 episode season.

Last season was cut to 10 episodes reportedly due to Anna Paquin's pregnancy, so I thought this season would revert back to the 12 episode pattern of seasons 1 - 5.

Wondering it these season will follow the pattern of prior years...two or three good episodes to start, then a total dive off the cliff.

Please don't try to follow the books.

I hope they don't muck this up too much.

I can't buy that they would kill Tara off-screen like that. She's still alive.

So I wonder who is leading the Hep-V vamps? They all left the picnic instantly at someone's whistle.

I liked the scenes with Jessica, and that she was willing to sacrifice herself.

Are Holly, Arlene, and the others in the cellar of Fangtasia?

Violet is so fucking hot.

Pam and Lafayette are among the reasons why I'm still watching the show.

Sookie acts like she's the only fairy in town. Where the heck was the new fairy's zapping powers in that Jessica / Hep-V infected vamp standoff??

I guess Tara haters will rejoice - even her maker Pam didn't seem to feel anything for her passing (or is it because she is on the other side of the world looking for Eric?) But considering she was a major character since season 1, the show could possibly drag out her death / grieving process over the course of half the season (much like Terry Bellefleur's.) uggh

That was one of the dullest TB premieres. And it doesn't help that the show is pumping up the number of tertiary characters.

yup, reminiscent of Lafayette chained up back in season 2.

Except for Pam's scenes, I thought that really truly sucked.

I hope they get it together, I don't want True Blood to go down like this.

Re: True Blood (S7E01) -- Season Premiere -- "Jesus Gonna Be Here" -- 6/22/14

The show hasn't been "good" for years. I would even argue that it was ever "good". Still, the only character left that I truly like is Eric so when he's not in an episode the show kind of suffers.

Please let Tara be dead. And if she is truly dead, they should have let us see it if only so I could have cheered. I have a feeling that we'll be seeing more of her this year.

If the show really wanted to be daring then they could have killed half the cast in the first two minutes and done the final season with just a core group.

Wow. True Blood has always been outlandish and trashy vampire soft porn, and a good diversion for an hour but holy hell that was awful. I have come this far so guess I will finish but wow that so bad it was almost unwatchable. Sookie has to be one of the least likable main characters on television.

Pam's timeline had to be different from the events back home since it wouldn't be night time in both places.

Anyways, meh episode, except for the Jessica and Pam stuff, as usual. I'm only still watching because it's the final season.

Wow this was terrible, and the fact that a season premiere could be so crushingly dull does not bode well for the rest of the season.

There's only six hours time difference between Louisiana and Morocco, so yeah, it could.

I didn't hate the episode, but it was rather 'meh'...nothing really interesting going on. I read in EW that there will be NO 'big bad' this season, which I think is a mistake. So I guess the next nine episodes will just be more of the same. I hope the whole season doesn't involve the search for Eric/attempt to rescue Arlene and Holly.

I liked it fine. Thought the fight at the beginning was cool. I like the "everyone could die " feeling they've established. And it sounds like Tara is actually dead, so kudos for them doing something bold.

Something was just off with the Tara death. It's hard to believe that if this really was her final moment they wouldn't have shown it, or at least shown more of the fight. Plus her mother is an unreliable source, and at the speed they were fighting it's possible she didn't really know *what* she saw.

When Bill and Andy are in that den and stumble across the other town folk and they wanted to kill Bill, why he didn't just glammer them I don't know?

That was terrible. Maybe that's too strong. But it felt tired and worn. Jason Stackhouse is still the man but other than that it was just spinning wheels.

It was time to go two years ago and it's showing.

Then Rutina Wesley is lying in that interview. I am sure she'll show up in a flashback or as a ghost or something, but it sounds like she is definitely dead.

Is Fangtasia in Shreveport? I remember one of them said something like "how are they going to do find us all the way in Shreveport?"

Seems like they went out of their way t have the line of dialogue cal out wheere they were.

Yea... I really haven't "enjoyed" this show since Season 1. Nothing was ever as good as that to me. The only good thing I've really enjoyed after that was Jessica.

Only 2 highlights of the episode for me - Sookie's tits, and Maz Jabroni being in this.

I'm calling it now that Tara's mother is the one that killed her and that is why they didn't show her death. It will be revealed later on. Really a boring premiere and the promo for the season https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJ4bUgwY6uM doesn't make the season look any better.
