The November Man (2014 - D: Donaldson) -- S: Brosnan, Kurylenko -- 8/27/14

Code named ‘The November Man’, Peter Devereaux (Pierce Brosnan) is a lethal and highly trained ex-CIA agent, who has been enjoying a quiet life in Switzerland. When Devereaux is lured out of retirement for one last mission, he must protect valuable witness, Alice Fournier, (Olga Kurylenko). He soon uncovers this assignment marks him a target of his former friend and CIA protégé David Mason (Luke Bracey). With growing suspicions of a mole in the agency, there is no one Devereaux can trust, no rules and no holds barred.

With a screenplay by Michael Finch & Karl Gajdusek based on Bill Granger’s novel “There are No Spies” from the bestselling November Man book series, THE NOVEMBER MAN is the ultimate cat and mouse game set in the world of international espionage. Directed by Roger Donaldson (The Bank Job, No Way Out, Thirteen Days), the film is produced by Beau St. Clair of Irish DreamTime and Sriram Das of Das Films.

Didn't see a thread for this. Looks pretty good. Good to see Brosnan playing a badass for a change.

Finally! A sequel to one of my favorite films.

Liam Neeson was busy...but looks ok and I like Brosnan so I may check it out at some point. Most likely a redbox for me.

Brosnan's suicide movie looks better than this one. However, Donaldson has made some decent flicks (wonder if he went after Costner for the title role) and Kurylenko is amazing so I'll catch it when it hits iTunes/VOD.

Looks pretty good. I've always liked Brosnan and I think I will make the effort to see this.

The trailer didn't do much for me, but Brosnan in an action movie will get me to watch. Probably wait for video.

I saw this trailer in front of Lucy, and felt like i'd rather see a movie with Kurylenko kicking ass

Not off to a good start, 0% on RT (5 reviews). Looks like a rental.

Can someone explain the title of the movie? I've been hearing radio spots all week where someone (maybe the villain?) is talking to Brosnan telling him why he's called "The November Man" but it still doesn't make any sense.

He says it's because after November, nothing is left alive (i.e., in December, everything dies). It's kinda dumb, if you ask me.

It's based on a novel.

Meh I don't trust reviews for movies like this. I think it looks like a fun time but I'm not expecting anything incredibly original or anything.

3 Days to Kill was ripped and it was one of the more entertaining films I've seen this year. Reviews for this kind of genre are irrelevant to me as well.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit was panned too but it was pretty damn good.

I am in agreement on both of those flicks. And this one looks like it will be great fun.

How is a spy action thriller with Pierce Brosnan as the lead not appealing? Brosnan doesn't do many action movies, but when he does, he's a total badass.

I smell Film Snobs in this thread.

He was Bond, if that's not an action franchise, I don't know what the hell is. The trailers look good, and having Brosnan is probably an asset, but early reviews haven't been very promising . From how it's being marketed, it certainly looks compelling.
