F off, Aaron Paul!!

EVERYTIME Aaron Paul's new XboxOne commercial comes on, him saying "Xbox on" turns my XB1 on! I haven't messed that much with the settings, but I don't see a way to stop it without turning off Kinect?

Hey Aaron, Xbox THIS, bitch!

Re: F off, Aaron Paul!!

I've read that was a problem with other people as well. You'd think the MS people would have seen this problem coming. Maybe they figured it would only people who already have an Xbox One with Kinect -- not their target audience anyway.

Re: F off, Aaron Paul!!

You should be watching all of your TV through your Xbox One. So sayeth Microsoft.

Re: F off, Aaron Paul!!

If you are, you won't be watching TV half-way through that commercial though.

They need one where he says "Xbox, renew my live subscription for the next 5 years and wipe the hard drive."

Yeah, the whole Sony taking jabs at Microsoft is pretty last year. They had every right to last year. Now not so much, considering how Sony's conference this year felt like Microsoft's from last year.

I like my PS4, but Sony does a horrible job at promoting their upcoming games with decent, high quality video clips. The interface needs an update, badly.

Oh I know, I wasn't directing my comment at you, just expanding on what you said and how Sony seems to be still playing this game of putting down MS. It's like "Hey, we get it, you're winning with sales Sony, give it a rest now. It's starting to get lame."

Re: F off, Aaron Paul!!

Yeah, Sony's been pretty quiet about it since last year's E3.
The only dig they really made was the optional camera jib (or jab, or gut punch, or bamboozle)

Re: F off, Aaron Paul!!

That was one jab too many in my book. No reason to do that, since no one wants the PS4 cam.

Actually even worse was jab at EA. Why piss off a third party publisher for no reason? Just stupid (if you missed it, they said something about Batman Arkham Knight having almost more smoke in its gameplay trailer than EA's press conference..yikes.)

That actually isn't true about the PS4 cam, it was a pain in the ass to find one for quite a while. Still it wasn't much of a jab and was playful in manner unlike say those Apple "FUCK ANDROID" jabs. The EA jab also wasn't really much of a jab, there's a lot of smoke in Arkham Knight, there was a lot of smoke at the EA conference.

Has the gaming community really gotten that sensitive?

Why would I read my own book I authored? The guy talking about the PS camera was being a blatant douche for no reason. A waste of time that could've showed off more games and gameplay, like MGSV instead of a dumb trailer.

Yeah, pissing off a major publisher is smart.

Playful my ass. It was deliberate on both accounts.

Well obviously deliberate, how exactly was it offensive to EA? "Wow, lots of smoke! Just like their conference (which did have a lot of smoke, they almost always do)". That's being cheeky sure, but I'm not sure how that's offensive to anyone.

Re: F off, Aaron Paul!!

It wasn't a blatant jab, it was simply a sly statement of fact. He said the camera was always optional (it was) and that demand was higher than they had anticipated (it was). How is that going too far?

Re: F off, Aaron Paul!!

I dunno, E3 has always been kind of playful between the big dogs, this didn't strike me any different or with any kind of malice, and it was surprisingly mild all around this year.

But to each their own I suppose

Except, oh I don't know, EA!!! Yeah, I bet they didn't like that at all. This isn't about how anyone else took it. It was a practical joke at their expense. Not smart at all on a PR front.

I don't think you're using the term "practical joke" correctly. But whatever, this is one of the weirdest things to debate, I don't think EA is a 5 year old girl and can handle what has to be the gentlest ribbing ever.

There was no reason to even mention it, considering that it was crap not many wanted, TV show talk was beyond boring. What were their expectations for the camera? They never give a number.

Why wouldn't you mention it? Apparently it was a hot item and was a lot more in demand than initially estimated, even if no exact numbers are available. Would have been better if they announced a game for it though. To note though, it had about a 15% attach rate through the end of March which puts it at around a million cameras sold.

Oh I believe I am. Look up the definition in a dictionary if you think I'm full of crap. I'm sure EA can handle it. It still doesn't change my opinion that it's stupid business.
