The Dead Ringers scene with Margot made me feel literal pain, and they didn't have to show a thing. Very well done.

Freddie being alive is no great surprise. However, Will is still out there trying to get someone to kill Hannibal, so he's not totally clean and innocent.

Next week looks to be really intense. Can't belive there is just 2 more episodes.

I enjoyed seeing a bit of humanity in Hannibal when he mentioned his sister, and possibly even some remorse over Abigail.

Mason, at times, gives me flashbacks of Tim Robbins in "Howard the Duck."

As soon as they identified Freddie's dental records, it was clear that it wasn't her.

Only thing I wonder is who they used to fool Hannibal. A cadaver is the obvious choice, but it's hard to imagine a burned, embalmed body fooling Hannibal.

What a brutal scene with Margot. Wow.

I wonder why the made Mason look like Thomas Dolby from the early 80s...

I guess that is the problem I have is that none of this would fool Hannibal, unless the plan to reveal that he knew what was going on. It was obvious to me from the beginning.

Interview with Bryan Fuller o this episode:
http://www.avclub.com/article/hannib...ds-murd-204383

No real spoilers, except maybe one for season 4 for those who haven't read/seen Red Dragon/Manhunter. Some choice quotes though:

BF: Do you have kids?

AVC: No.

BF: I don’t either. But I’m told [Laughs.] that in order to fully become whole as a human being, you have to cycle through all of your childhood issues through a child of your own in some way, and that’s one of the blessings of parenthood, blah, blah, blah...
[Alana Bloom] is reacting in a realistic way, as much as you can on Hannibal, because, let’s face it, we’re tethered to reality, but it’s a pretty long tether.

I don't think Hannibal has been fooled at all. He knows Will is trying to trap him, and Will knows that he knows. It's a sort of Kabuki dance that Hannibal can't resist. We now know Jack is in on Will's pland, so he has an advantage.

Hannibal concoted elaborate plans to frame Will, then Dr. Chilton. I have a feeling he's improvising now, due to Will's unpredictable behavior. At some point he'll make a mistake. Alana is a wild card, and my guess is she'll lead to his downfall.

to the Season 3 news.

I see Tom Waits' Renfield with Mason, he's like an ink blot

I see a cross with Heath Ledger's Joker and David Lynch himself with this Mason. I think it's a nice touch. Using Freddie Lound's death from Red Dragon in this episode was cool too.
