Anna Chumsky rivals Claire Danes when it comes to distraught crazy face.

I think this may have been my least favorite episode of the series. How Hannibal was able to so completely frame Chilton was ridiculous. And the way just about everyone was acted in this episode just had me rolling my eyes.

Remember Hannibal is brilliant and I can see him working on this for a while. It just didnt happen over night. I loved the ending and this show is just so damn awesome, I can't wait another week for the next episode...

Jack is still suspicious according to the next week preview.

How many episodes are left this season and does the Jack vs Hannibal bruhaha take place in it?

Wow. I guess I doomed Chilton when I mentioned that I thought they did a great job casting him, and writing him, for this series. Sorry to see him go.

Chilton only got shot in the cheek, so it's possible he's not dead...even though that looked like quite the blood splash out the back of his head.

Esparza and Chlumsky were stellar . What a way for Chilton to exit.

Re: Hannibal -- "Yakimono" -- 4/11/14

This ep really disappointed me. Hannibal sets up Will, the cops totally buy it. Hannibal clears Will and sets up Chilton, the cops totally buy it again, not learning from their mistakes. Not to mention the loss of Chilton is a huge blow. He was cast perfectly. And I do think I heard someone on the show confirm Chilton was dead.

Re: Hannibal -- "Yakimono" -- 4/11/14

From the AV Club interview with Bryan Fuller:

AVC: Chilton, correct me if I’m wrong, is the first character from the literature that you’ve killed who’s still alive in later books. Do you feel that shakes things up, or do you worry about not having that character to play later?

BF: [Frank] Serpico survived a bullet to the face.

AVC: Okay.

BF: [Laughs.]

I think it would be straight up obvious if Chilton was dead. This guy survived watching his guts removed. I don't know if he'll be back this season, but I don't think he's dead.

So how did Hannibal fake Chilton's voice for two years?

Re: Hannibal -- "Yakimono" -- 4/11/14

I liked the ending too. For most of the series, Hannibal has been in control and pulling the strings. But now Will sort of has a bit of an edge here since Hannibal doesn't know what to expect from the therapy sessions and will have to be a little cautious.

Anyone else love the fact that Dr. Chilton's house (which was predominantely white) got splattered with red during those scenes? I loved the contrast in colors and there was the usual visual flair that I've come to expect from this show.

Re: Hannibal -- "Yakimono" -- 4/11/14

This is one of the few shows where I almost can't wait until the next episode, so I'd been saving them up all season after the premiere. Finally cracked on Monday, and just finished watching everything in time for tonights episode. And hoooly shit is this show good.

This was one of the weaker episodes, but even in an off episode, it was still beautiful in it's own twisted way. I'm assuming Chilton is dead, which sucks because he's been killing it this entire season. The only thing that upset me was Will going to Hannibal's, pointing a gun at him, and then letting him go "to find out how it ends?" I don't think he'd care. Just kill the guy, search his place and it's all over. When one man has taken almost everything from you, I don't see you being that concerned with "the design."

Loved the exchange between Alana and Will:
A: Is he safe?
W: From me, or for you?

He didn't have to do it for two years, probably just a few weeks/months, and I assume he could just play tapes of Chilton and implant the memories into her head through hypnosis.

Agreed 100% on all of this.

I understand the past relationship between Lecter and Bloom, but the new love interest seems like just an excuse to make her dumb as rocks.

It's happened to other female characters in other TV shows I've seen and it's just as obnoxious here.
