This is the unit I raved about awhile back. It's more sensitive than average (I.E. pick up more stations) will output 480, 780 or 1080 & has a USB record output; all for $35! Will output Analog for 480 or digital for hi-res. I have never used it to record, but it 's a very good over the air receiver.
Much more sensitive than my Samsung.

My friend was looking for a noservice fee DVR for OTA recordings to his HDTV, does this fit the bill? I guess you just need to buy a hard drive?
The one thing I didn't notice when looking at it, can you schedule recordings?

Hard drive or Flash drive; though most users recommend an hd for hi def write speeds.

I THINK you can schedule, but again i have not used it for recording.
