Game of Thrones -- Season Premiere -- "Two Swords" -- 4/06/14

Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) welcomes a guest to King's Landing. At Castle Black, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) finds himself unwelcome. Dany (Emilia Clarke) is pointed to Meereen, the mother of all slave cities. Arya (Maisie Williams) runs into an old friend.

Written by David Benioff & D. B. Weiss; directed by D. B. Weiss

10 episode 4th season

Starting this early. Will be busy most of the day Sunday at work. I know this is the only show on Sunday night that will get must see TV viewing from most here.

If you need to refresh your memory about season 3, here's a 25 minute recap video from HBO's website:

<iframe src="http://www.hbo.com/data/content/global/videos/embed/data/1371519.html?height=480&width=640" height="480" width="640" style="overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" seamless="seamless" frameborder="0" type="text/html"></iframe>

I'm not going to be posting links to viewer guides, character profiles etc. You can all look that up on your own on the HBO website.

Re: Game of Thrones -- Season Premiere -- "Two Swords" -- 4/06/14

There's a marathon on HBO right now too. It started yesterday. I watched as many as I could, went to sleep, and I'm going to try to watch a few more in the background while I do other stuff. It was very hard to break away and go to sleep when every episode left me wanting to see the next one. I broke off at the end of Season 1. Given there are 12 hours left, all of Season 3 should be running soon.

Looking forward to tonight.

I'm doing a re-watch marathon of season 3 while listening to each of Rob Cesternino's episode recaps in between.

Can't wait for Kelly C to do not do anything for more episodes.

I'm super-excited to watch this tonight. I love the Episode 1s. They do a nice job of letting you catch up with everyone without getting too overwhelmed.

The Khalisi's hunky new lieutenant got recast, right?

Re: Game of Thrones -- Season Premiere -- "Two Swords" -- 4/06/14

I had not seen a single episode two months ago but made a goal to watch all 3 seasons on Blu-ray by the time season 4 started. I was able to meet that goal yesterday after watching the last 7 episodes on Fri-Sat. I don't know how I will cope with only watching 1 new episode a week now.

I did the exact same thing, only I finished the third season a couple of weeks ago. Now I've started reading the books. I just finished the first book and I'm a few chapters into the second. I'm amazed how much of the series has followed the books (with a few minor plot differences).

Original actor found a better gig.

They replaced him with the junkie dude who was banging violin girl in Treme.

This will be the first time I will be able to watch live as well. No more waiting nearly a year and trying to avoid every single thread and conversation about the current season.

Ed Serkis wanted more money.

Apparently HBO didn't like his method acting,

Re: Game of Thrones -- Season Premiere -- "Two Swords" -- 4/06/14

I hope Shae gets decapitated this season. She brings down every scene she's in with her stupid stink eyes, that annoying full-baggaged bitch. She's not even that hot, maybe she was 10 years ago when the actress was doing DP scenes and getting filled out like an application.
Spoiler:
Hope her inevitable death scene is a particularly gruesome one.*

Good start, setting up things nicely.

I had the Red Ale tonight, it was better than I thought it would be. Still mad that it doesn't look like I'll ever get to try the 1st beer (Iron Throne I believe it is called).

I still have a few bottles of that. Is it illegal to ship?
