Modern Warfare... Repilot... Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas...
The next 2 episodes don't either.

This was spot on how I imagine my adult self reacting to watching reruns of the cartoon.
I also liked the "11,000+" days since last causality.

Hmm...not sure how I felt about this one. It was pretty obvious the concept came first and they just wrote a story around it. I was a G.I.Joe fan as a kid so I appreciated the attention to detail (the real Duke and Flint!), but the actual story of the episode deserved more. Jeff nearly drinking himself to death is pretty heavy stuff and it was literally just laughed off in the end.

I thought it could have been a little funnier but still a brilliant episode if one ever watched the G.I. Joe cartoons. Did Hasbro clear this episode, this was very close to infringing on their copyrights? The parody exception has its limits.
I imagine the people that didn't grow up on G.I. Joe wondered what the hell was going on.

The fact they got all the original voices is a pretty damn cool thing (well, except Cobra Commander of course, but that's because he's dead).

I loved this episode. I think it's going to go down as one of the best of the series. The attention to detail was uncanny. I was a little older when the GI Joe cartoon this is based on was actually on the air, but I've watched enough of these types of cartoons (Transformers, He-Man, Thundercats) to have a great appreciation for what they were able to accomplish. From reusing animation cells to save money to the Cobra logos on uniforms that blinked in and out because of production mistakes, this episode was perfect.

Dan Harmon, not Mark Harmon.
I enjoyed it. I didn't think it was overall very funny, but the premise was very clever.

Have you EVER watched Community? I very seriously doubt that Dan Harmon's intent for the next-to-the-last-last episode of an improbable 5th season was to attract a bigger audience for the show. Community averages about 3 million viewers a week. At this point, I'm fairly certain the show is being produced to please those 3 million fans, not some mythical demo that has never watched the show.

Yes, I've seen the show. I know they've done some crazy ideas before, but this was the first episode my wife said "Is this the whole episode? If it is, let's just watch something else". I get that the show is not likely to attract any more new eyeballs, but c'mon, you want a "6th Season and a Movie" and pulling stuff like this won't help. Oh well. I really have not been that impressed with this Harmon Season anyway (the previous episode was also stupid), so I might not be back for a Sixth - if it's actually renewed.

I found this to be a very poor episode. A decent idea but that and a few lines was about all that was good in this episode.
To clarify, by decent idea I mean the day someone in the writers room said "Let's parody GI JOE and the commercials" and that's about it. The full concept of integrating it into the show and characters was half baked.

This one was written by Dino, and he seems to have a lot of recent experience writing for animated shows. Wonder if the show was his idea or they had him write it after coming up with the idea.
