I really hope Daryl doesn't get drawn into the gang. In his despair over losing his group family, and then Beth who he's come to care about, he might fall back in with someone like the leader who would remind him of Merle.
Also, I wonder if they might be the ones who took Beth. If that's the case, I can see Daryl going crazy and trying to kill them all.

He looks kind of like Bruce Dern, IMO. I knew that obviously wasn't him, but that's where my mind immediately jumped. Sucks that they broke up Daryl and Beth, hopefully the whole gang will meet together at the shelter at the season's end. The novelistic "follow a different character each episode" structure is interesting, but hopefully they'll actually intersect soon. Maybe Daryl will show up there with the gang and find his old comrades and they'll ask him to side with one or the other or something. Beth couldn't have gotten far with a sprained ankle, she must be nearby.

On the surface this seemed like a better episode, but I think it is evident this season (as a whole) will be a whimper (not a bang). What have we accomplished that is different from the end of the last episode of last season?
I guess the big question is: will it turn off the masses to have 8 episodes that are nothing but recovery from one plot line and setup for the next?

So is Daryl's bike gone for good? Is it still back at the prison?

I hope when Glenn & Maggie finally meet up, we get a nice moment like with Jin & Sun from LOST.
You would think that at this point Beth would know enough not to hitchhike.

That was an improvement over last week. The Beth and Daryl stuff was much better in that they didn't act like complete idiots. Well, except for Daryl just throwing open that door and letting all the zombies in. And then running down into the basement where he could be cornered. God damn it. Oh, well.
Looks like they're setting up a Daryl/Beth romance. Or were, until Beth got taken. But Daryl has a very particular set of skills...
The back and forth between Bob and Sasha got kinda tiresome, but it was good to get a little character development on both of them.
It's looking like we won't be seeing much of Terminus this season--maybe just a tease in the finale.

Great episode. Liked Beth/Daryl interaction (they looked like they are setting up a Beth/Daryl relationship). As as the bob/Sasha interaction.
I told my wife that I thought they want Daryl and Beth to get close, then kill her off.

What the hell was that cold open? Was it a flash forward?

Okay you're right it was a flashback. I just did some checking after reading a recap. I couldn't remember how Bob joined the group. That really confused me.

I enjoyed this episode too. It did seem like they were hinting on some attraction between Beth & Daryl. How old is Daryl supposed to be? In his 30's?
Funny how he ran into Jeff Kober's group after Beth's abduction.
I also liked how they developed Sasha-Bob-Maggie's relationships. I know some here aren't crazy about the Zombies and some aren't crazy about the characters. But I think this episode had a good balance of the two. The show IMO has always been about survival.

I have heard many complaints about Part 2 of this season from my friends, but I have liked it so far because I think there is a big payoff at the end.
I think they decided to focus on various characters each episode and kinda of give their current state of mind/backstory so we get a sense of who they for future seasons. I think the payoff is at the end of the season and when they all probably meet up together at this supposed safehouse?

Daryl and Glenn picked up Bob but Rick, Carl and Michonne passing the hitchhiker twice on the side of the road was inconsistent. It wasn't like they found out Bob was a medic before taking him in. They took him in while Rick and company did't even think twice about the hitchhiker they left for dead. I did like the episode but hated the fake out with Bob being bit.
