Saint George (FX) -- Series Thread -- S: George Lopez, Danny Trejo, David Zayas

Saint George is a half-hour, multi-camera ensemble comedy that follows the chaotic life of “George Lopez,” a recently divorced working-class Mexican-American turned successful entrepreneur caught between two cultures. He struggles to balance the parenting demands of his All-American Anglo ex-wife, “Mackenzie,” and the cultural expectations of his overbearing Mexican-American mother, “Alma.” As George attempts to relate to his 11-year-old son, “Harper,” his life is further complicated by his fun-loving but freeloading uncle “Tio” and cousin “Junior.” As a wealthy businessman, George also gives back by teaching history to a multi-cultural classroom at a night school in downtown Los Angeles, where he’s supervised by tough and sexy Assistant Principal “Concepcion.” Ultimately, Saint George is a celebration of a multi-generational family that humorously wrestles with cultural differences.

For anyone who might be interested. I emphasize, might. I know it's very unlikely anyone here will be regular viewers.

10 episode order, but if FX likes the ratings, they are obligated to order 90 more episodes. This is being produced under the same model as Charlie Sheen's sitcom Anger Management.

Will never watch. More curious why FX is adopting this 100 episode order thing. That seems like a very unnecessary way to commit to a show. Just ask NBC if they're glad they promised Michael J Fox a mere 22 episodes. Why commit to such a massive order so early? I figured Charlie Sheen was probably in some sort of demand after his previous TV success, but George Lopez?

What do you have against keeping this 70 year old Mexican gainfully employed?

FX committed to another 10/90 show for 2014 as well. It's called Braddock and Jackson with Martin Lawrence and Kelsey Grammer.

I guess this type of sitcom, although loathed by many, especially here, is a cheap money maker. They just crank out scripts like a hot dog factory and shoot them right away.
