"Alison Brie and Yvette Nicole Brown also star" should have said "show up for 2 minutes".
What the hell was going on with this episode?

I've never said this before but the stuff with Change was my favourite part of the episode.
This episode was terrific. Loved everything except the short shrift given to Annie and Shirely.

Abed's weirdness is stunted without Troy to play off of it. I don't know how I feel about revisiting the Jeff/Britta/Annie triangle again. Chang's story was well suited for his character.

Considering how strange this episode was and how intense the stuff between Abed and Hickey got, I loved this episode. Glad to see they got John Oliver involved.

0 for 2 since Troy leaving. Abed is completely thrown off without him. He just doesn't have the same chemistry with the other characters. The stuff with Hickey seemed forced. Hopefully we'll see some episodes where the group is all together.
Wasn't a big fan of the other stuff either. I don't need to laugh out loud to enjoy an episode of Community but things just seemed sad this episode. Britta getting owned by her old friends without getting any payback was depressing. Duncan trying to hook up with a crying Britta was creepy. Jeff realizing he likes Britta was annoying, hopefully that doesn't carry forward. Meanwhile, the Chang stuff seemed like a throw in for the sake of killing time.
I did get a kick out of the Shining reference though.

With Harmon running the show again I wouldn't be surprised if she gets payback in a future episode.

I loved the "Floor is Lava" episode, and I got three times the joy out of the "Ass Crack Bandit" episode because I never liked Dave Matthews Band.
This episode seemed like they were setting up something good, and never followed through with it.

Ugh. There's the "up his own ass episode" I've been waiting for Harmon to do since his return. Boring from top to bottom.

I think the fact that it's our opinion is implied.
I didn't laugh or smile once. It retread the Jeff-Britta relationship which I don't care about. The Abed stuff bordered on a "Very Special Episode" and I'm convinced that if the exact same episode had happened last year it would have been ripped to shreds. But since Dan Harmon is back, it's somehow great now.

But are you reading too much into the Jeff/Britta thing? Jeff's attraction to Britta was based around other people paying attention to her. By the end of the episode her old friends had written her off, and I would assume Jeff's attraction would be gone with them.

The writing seems to be there (except this episode), but something really feels off. I can't really put my finger on what, but something doesn't feel right.

I will say that having Duncan back has been a HUGE plus in my book. I always liked Duncan, but didn't realize how much I missed him until this season.
I also agree that Abed can be a bit insufferable at this point, however I think that was part of the point of this episode. I really enjoyed Hickey taking him down a few pegs.
