The Spectacular Spider-Man - The Complete Series 4/22/14
This is a nice surprise! Sony will release the complete series of the 2008 animated series (and my favorite Spider-Man cartoon) The Spectacular Spider-Man on April 22!
The Complete First Season DVD did have a couple short features, hopefully they will bring that over. The second season was never released on DVD together, just as four volumes.
EDIT: Just found this facebook post from DVD News Flash which confirms it will have the two featurettes from the first season, Stylizing Spidey and Spider-Man: Re-Animated, as well as the music video that was released on the Attack of the Lizard DVD. So nothing new, but at least they are bringing over everything, and hopefully in HD.

Sony is also finally releasing the trilogy set that they've messed up twice before. The 2007 release included the 2-disc SM3 but the first two were bare-bones movie-only discs. The individual releases I'm 2012 restored their extras but dropped the 2nd disc from the SM3 disc.
This new trilogy set is the original 2-disc SM3 disc and the SM/SM2 re-releases in one package for the first time ever. And they're also releasing a 4K SM3 which completes the trilogy for the people who don't want extras.

No. Posted this in the Batman: TAS thread, it really should be discussed here instead of the Batman thread:
I don't believe Spider-Man: The New Animated Series (the 2003 MTV series) was rendered in 1080p, so a Blu release was unlikely. That was my first thought last night when Spectacular Spider-Man was announced and after some light Googlin I found no evidence that the show has ever aired, streamed or been offered for download in HD. It's an 11-year-old show. Makes sense.
The DVD release is 16x9. I'm gonna watch it again and see how it holds up in SD. It's personally my favorite Spider-Man animated show but I admittedly haven't seen an episode of Spectacular (which I have ordered on Blu blind) or Ultimate.

Is this series worth a blind buy? I don't recall seeing it but it seems like it could be decent.

I got this at Best Buy the other day, it's 24.99, includes a ticket for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and Best Buy currently gives an extra 100 My Best Buy points for buying this or select other Spider-Man releases.
I didn't sit down and watch, but I did look through it yesterday. You can tell they made it as two two-disc seasons. The first disc features episodes 1-7 and a couple previews, and the second disc features episodes 8-13. Then the third disc has episodes 1-7 of the second season, and the fourth disc has episodes 8-13 of the second season, as well as the special features. My PS3 even shows the discs as being Season 1 - Disc 1, Season 2 - Disc 1, etc.
Anyway, as per the content, from my flipping around, the show looks amazing. The special features are all from previous releases (Spider-Man: Reanimated and Stylizing Spidey from The Complete First Season, and the music video from Attack of the Lizard), and sadly are all in SD.
