Close to my birthday. Pretty sure we see stores with exclusive bonus disc again.

I didn't bother with the exclusive slip covers for the first two seasons so I won't bother with them for season three. I'll probably go with the Target bonus disc.

i was gonna wait for the complete set in 10 years or whatever, but this set with it's review at Bluray.com, has my interests piqued.

I'm glad I didn't collect the slipcovers, because re-releasing the season 1 slipcovers is a slap in the face that did.

It's a flimsy piece of cardboard designed to get people to buy it. It's not a slap in the face, it's a marketing tactic.

Jeez, HBO really stretches out those release schedules, don't they?

I agree. But many do love that piece of cardboard, and many paid through their nose to acquire the first season ones, so yes, it's a slap in the face.

Especially since I was expecting the trend to continue with all new slipcovers, not reissuing the old ones. Probably a good time to sell my Lannister one.

Are they re-releasing the season 1 ones or just reusing the art for season 3? I don't see an issue with the latter.

is the Walmart disc a DVD? The evil corporation will never get my money, so I'm looking at the Target edition.

Nice to know I'm not the only one who feels that way. I'm reticent to use Vudu because of it connections to them as well.

I only use Vudu for my ultraviolet codes. I've never purchased or rented a movie from them.

They are using the same "limited edition" artwork as season 1, instead of continuing on and using other house sigils.

I bought one exclusive from them because I couldn't get it anywhere else, but I seriously doubt I'll do it again. I use my UV codes there and watch their 1080p stuff sometimes, but I don't want to support them as a result of their ownership.

I like the reissuing because I only buy one "limited" artwork cover per season. Gives me a chance to catch up.

Any chance we'll see this priced at $24.99 like the previous two sets?

It'll be $29.99 at Target and Best Buy. Their ads are out already.

I think it was only $24.99 at Fry's last time, but I got BB to price match their price.

Technically, it's the Stark and Targaryen covers from Season one and the Lannister cover from Season 2

Best Buy had a vote and the recycles won. The other choices were the faces used in S3 promotions (yuck) and the new sigils.

My bad, I actually paid $34.99 for it. Seems like my threshold was much higher last year.

Re: Game of Thrones Season 3 ---Feb. 18,2014

I didn't start collecting the Best Buy covers so will just get this with some gift cards I've got from Amazon.

I was really tempted for their limited edition version (http://www.amazon.com/Game-Thrones-C...rones+season+3) but can't justify spending $60 for just the packaging.

I don't mind that they recycled the slipcovers. I bought Stark for S1, Lannister for S2 so I guess I'm going Targaryen for S3.

Exactly. I don't see the problem for those who bought the slipcovers. This allows them to get one of each cover. Aren't there only three different slipcovers? So season four should have new ones to choose from.
