Arrow -- "Blind Spot" -- 1/22/14

Synopsis:

ARROW TEAMS UP WITH LAUREL TO FIND THE MAN IN THE MASK - Oliver (Stephen Amell) is conflicted after Laurel (Katie Cassidy) reaches out to the Arrow asking him to investigate Sebastian Blood (guest star Kevin Alejandro). Oliver is unsure whether to believe her accusations against the man he has publically supported for mayor, but decides to trust Laurel. However, when the pair gets too close to the truth, Sebastian exposes Laurel's drug addiction and has her arrested. Meanwhile, Roy (Colton Haynes) reveals his new super-strength to Sin (guest star Bex Taylor-Klaus) who wants to test out his abilities. Unfortunately, Roy isn't able to contain his rage once unleashed and almost kills a man. Back on the island, Oliver is surprised when Sarah (guest star Caity Lotz) reveals a secret about Laurel. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Wendy Mericle & Beth Schwartz (#211).

I'm really wondering if she went method for this and lost the weight for the druggie role... but because she's female we think she's just anorexic.

Amell's acting seemed off to me in this one. Lots of cheesy dialogue and deliveries. And I really can't stand that girl/boy (?) from The Killing.

Yeah that Deathstroke scene was bad ass. The costume looked awesome and Manu Bennett looked like he walked right of the comic book and Slade Wilson is playing himself.

Actually I liked this episode for the most part. The action was really good even though the main story wasn't really interesting(everyone knew that would be a fake Brother Blood). I bet Laurel doesn't make it out of this season alive though. Honestly, I would be OK with them thinning out some of the main cast excluding Dig and Felicity.

Another fun episode, this series delivers week after week. The banter between Felicity, Diggle and Ollie in the Arrow cave always has some nice quips.

Nice bait-and-switch move by Sebastian to sideline Laurel and remove suspicion from himself.

We need a screencap of Felicity in that black-grey-yellow dress, STAT!

Maybe she is worried about her father David.
He got BUSTED again for DUI.

An excellent episode. Deathstroke doing his thing was AWESOME.

Agreed. If I didn't know beforehand that was supposed to be Deathstroke, I would have guessed it was Jason Voorhees. The Deathstroke mask from season 1 was much better than this "hockey" mask.

Since you said it, I will chime in. I thought the mask was a cheap costume piece. Production definitely needs to mold something to his face, instead of using a chrome hockey mask.

I agree and was dismayed he didn't use this mask instead:

The mask looks better here, not much, but it does. Not sure why they decided to change it, the first
one he used on the island was perfect.

maybe he felt that armor protected better than nerf.

I definitely liked this mask more than the island mask, I don't see how that one would be comfortable or useful. New mask looks like the Arkham Origins figure.

The Mirakuru serum seems to give him a Wolverine-like healing factor that would make him nearly invincible. Armor therefore pretty much does not matter.

Re: Arrow -- "Blind Spot" -- 1/22/14

Being able to heal from a flesh wound might save you from a bullet to the head, or vital organs. So in many regards, the armor makes sense.

Plus it just looked so damn badass

Good episode. Arrow is easily my fastest must-watch show every week (all other shows, I can pretty much wait a few days).

Slade was fatally injured on the island, and the Mirakuru saved him. Armor is pointless when you can regenerate from fatal wounds.

Roy also had that deep cut on his arm a few episodes ago and regenerated from it completely very quickly. He didn't even seem to be in pain when it happened. So its not like he needs to wear armor to avoid painful injuries either.

No it doesn't. It looks like Jason Voorhees wearing his hockey mask, not Deathstroke. The Deathstroke costume from season 1 looked so much more badass.

In the comics Deathstroke has the healing factor, but when used to any extent it drives him insane for a short period. Also, he needs the armor in the DCU to take on the metas (once he even took a hit from Lobo and survived).

Re: Arrow -- "Blind Spot" -- 1/22/14

Original mask looks better but the new one is fine, it does remind one of Jason but that isn't a bad thing. I would even say the new mask is scarier and more practical.

Really liked Laurel getting shafted because of her drug problem.
