I don't know if this is legit or not. There is no "official" announcement on any of the reputable entertainment sites. It seems this might be a fan made creation. There seem to be some "posters" out with the Circus title also.

I like the idea. But this is still a RUMOR

Yeah, there are a lot of reports of it being Freakshow-esque. I guess we'll see. It is a little too early to post it as fact.

Guess this is the best place to post this.
American Horror Story's season 4 will be set at a carnival

Will Emerson Lake and Palmer be taking over for Fleetwood Mac?

Hope they improve this show drastically from season 3, which I thought was pretty bad. This show is at its best when it marries intense horror with pitch black comedy. Season 3 didn't really hit any of these extremes and was pretty middling and uneventful compared with the superb season 2.

Honestly, once you get past the first nine or so episodes of season one, it's been a bumpy and erratic ride for the entire series. Much like Nip/Tuck, another show helmed by Ryan Murphy.

I'm optimistic about season 4 since it has similar potential to the Asylum story line.

I also liked season 1 and 2. Season 3 was my least favorite though.

Agreed more or less, I really enjoyed Season 1 but found the first ten episodes of Season 2 to be borderline brilliant. It petered off in the last few episodes but was still solid.

Fans have been hoping that the new season of American Horror Story would be set at a carnival, and they’re not soooo far off. Co-creator Ryan Murphy announced via his Twitter account that season 4 will be called Freak Show. But what does that mean exactly? EW has uncovered exclusive new details about the secretive season.
Set in Jupiter, Florida, in 1950, Freak Show finds Jessica Lange playing a German ex-pat who is managing one of the last freak shows in the U.S. Her group of “unusuals”? Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, and Frances Conroy all play performers whom Lange’s character has rescued; Denis O’Hare and Emma Roberts are also in talks to return. Freak Show’s 13 episodes will track this group as they do anything to keep their business around.

Given the Florida setting and Freak Show theme, I'm a little surprised it doesn't take place in Gibsonton.
Grady "Lobster Boy" Stiles would be an interesting character to utilize if that had been the case:

Have not seen the previous seasons of Asylum, but the setting for this one has peaked my interest.

Sounds good.
For me, all the seasons have started great, maybe the last one was the only one missing the mark. But they start great and then can barely finish. Maybe it's because of the genre. Or just the writers.

I think, for me, there's a different problem each season. Season one had pacing issues. Season two tried to cram too many ideas into the show and they didn't always fuse together well. And this last season they tried to outdo themselves each episode with 'big' moments, but by repeatedly going over-the-top it all started to feel meaningless by the end of the run.

Season 3 was easily the weakest by far. All the seasons have plot holes and inconsistencies, but it went beyond the level to where I couldn't ignore and truly enjoy the campiness as in prior seasons.
