Didn't like Wolf of Wall Stree, and I spoke to actress Margot Robbie about it
So I did not care for the movie (my review: http://bit.ly/1c8h3Wv). However, when I was given a chance to talk with actress Margot Robbie about the film, I took it. Here's part 1 of our talk: http://bit.ly/1cYpzsq and the meaty stuff in part 2: http://bit.ly/1fcRXud

Maybe it is cuz I'm on my phone but that was short. Just that short part one and part 2 was 2 short pages, right?
I agree with her on her character. She wasn't dumb. She had Belfort down when she gave him the heads up that they weren't going to be friends.
Edit: not a big deal or anything but the title kind of made it sound like you told her you didn't like it and that this would be her and you taking about your view of the film.

That's what I got out of that as well. I thought she was more along the lines of average young blonde actress but she knows her shit. Never heard of her before this.

Ash... I don't see what you're saying. There was nothing to argue with. She has nothing to fight back to. He didn't hit her with anything to defend.
I'd suggest you see the film but... What are your reasons for not doing so?

I made it clear in my posts on the reviews thread, but Mr. Morgenstern's review above, linked in the OP, articulates my objections to the film pretty well. And in his questions to Ms. Robbie in the interview link, it's clear he had problems with the film and was voicing some of those objections--diplomatically--and she answered them quite deftly. They both handled themselves very well, not something I say about many interviews I read on the web.

Sorry I am jumping into the conversation late. As for the interview, I tried to remain objective as a journalist and addressed issues in the film with her in as open-ended and non-confrontational a way as possible to get her feelings, from her perspective, and not put her on the defensive (contrary to lots of sensationalistic approaches in news, I try to be civil and curious). My stance as a critic is a stance as a critic, personal opinion but also objective judgement are all involved, but there was no time for talking about me when I had 15 minutes on the phone with her. It wasn't like this luxurious moment with Whit Stillman (http://bit.ly/18RgDTN), which is a real 2-parter, preceded by a 3-hour lunch together.
