Good games for Leap pad 2?

My mom got our 3 year old a Leap Pad 2 for Christmas. I had no clue she was getting him one. I know nothing about these things. From the little bit I have read, Leap pad 1 games work on it as well. The game cartridges are damn expensive. Do any of your kids have one? If so, what are some good games? My 3 year old is a whiz with our iPad, so I know he can play younger games pretty well.

Help please!

We have 2 Leapster Explorer GS's in our house. I think those games also work on the Leap Pad.

Their favorites are (in no particular order):

-LeapFrog Crayola Art Adventure Learning Game (Clicky)
-LeapFrogThe Penguins of Madagascar: Operation Plushy Rescue Learning Game (Clicky)
-LeapFrog Disney-Pixar Toy Story 3 Learning Game (Clicky)
-LeapFrog Mr. Pencil Saves Doodleburg Learning Game (Clicky)
-LeapFrog Explorer Learning Game: Disney Tangled (Clicky)

Re: Good games for Leap pad 2?

Just buy the ones based on their favorite characters. I think all the games suck and don't know why my daughter plays it lol

Amazon has a bunch for $10-$15.

He likes watching Dora the Explorer, so i looked that one up on amazon and it was freaking $35. I ended up getting him Jake the Pirate ($15) which is supposed to be for 3 to 5 year olds and he likes the show.

The Leappad 2 can also run downloaded apps from their store. I think when you first register you get a promo code for 35% your first purchase of apps, though it was limited to within a few hours after registering.

Right now they have a promo code for 25% off when buying two or more:

If you have multiple kids, the downloaded apps can be installed on more than one tablet, as long as they're linked under the same parent account.

Personally, the relative dearth of downloadable apps and their relative price lead me to believe that buying a cheap kid-friendly Android tablet would be a better purchase.
