An American Tail - 3/4/14
I was pretty excited about this announcement. Haven't seen it since I was a kid though, wonder if it still holds up. Would have loved a double feature with Fievel Goes West.
Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced the Blu-ray release of Don Bluth's An American Tail, which features the voice talents of Phillip Glasser, Dom DeLuise, Christopher Plummer, Nehemiah Persoff, Amy Green and Erica Yohn. The classic animated film makes its Blu-ray debut on March 4, 2014.
Synopsis: In 1885, a family of immigrant mice -- the Mousekewitzes -- make the arduous journey from Russia to the United States. There, young Fievel (Phillip Glasser) is lost, and has to search for his parents (Nehemiah Persoff and Erica Yohn) and older sister (Amy Green) through the streets of New York, meeting unexpected friends every step of the way.
An American Tail is presented in 1080p with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround. Bonus features include:
Somewhere Out There Sing-Along
Theatrical Trailer
UltraViolet Digital Copy

I have always liked this movie, never bought the dvd so I will get this. Your right a double feature with the sequel would have made more sense.

I need to make sure that the PQ and AQ of this release is good before purchasing it. If good, this is a must purchase for me.
It gives me a chance to embedded this clip of the title song from the show "Community":

Didn't Universal make some audio changes to the 5.1 DVD track? Or am I thinking Land Before Time? I know LBT was altered to remove the bite marks from Littlefoot's mother's neck and back.

Great news, but hopefully it won't be a mess like THE SECRET OF NIMH is.
We need a remastered version of that on Blu.

I hope this is a good release. I loved this movie but am also among those that never got the DVD. I hope they release the sequel as well.
I didn't know about this. That's a movie I have seen since VHS. I hated all the sequels.
