These guys are idiots for not having the mother in more episodes.
Always love Lily's lesbionic love for Robin.

Refreshing episode.
We see a lot of the mother and we see her at the Inn... and Marshall is done his stupid road trip.
I agree, she should've been in more episodes. I actually like the character.
Robin will be next to meet her I'm assuming... and I'm guessing she'll be somehow responsible for Ted meeting her - not that it'd be hard to meet her at the wedding on his own anyway.
We still don't know her name. Any guesses?

First non-filler episode in a while. I liked it. Yeah, the mother is pretty awesome -- casting Home Run. Wonder what TV lead she lands next year, because she getting cast in a lead roll in something

You guys are idiots. The mother shouldn't be in this. Ted should meet her in the final 30 seconds. ~DVDtalk before this season
She is awesome and what a great way for Marshall to meet her. The lead singer dude fell flat for me until Ted went all George McFly on him.
My only real issue though was Ted is bought a very expensive drink (and by someone with similar taste as his) and he doesn't ask who it was from? Plot device.

Re: How I Met Your Mother - "Bass Player Wanted" - 12/16/13
The previous ideas of the 'idiots' was that the mother be a full fledged character on the show. That idea was stupid to me and others because I felt that adding a main character to a show late in the game doesn't work out well.
The way they're doing it now is perfect and the best of both worlds. Ted doesn't get to the meet the mother till the end but we get to know the mother through her interactions with the other characters.
They're also not bogging us down with the character. I'm in the minority that think she's in the perfect amount of episodes. More mother would mean that you would need to show some of her flaws and then we'd dislike her the way we did with Zoe and Stella. This amount of mother allows them to show her as perfect, and that's what she's supposed to be.

It is going to be a bit lame that he won't meet her for the next what, ten episodes or so? Since she's at the same inn as he is now.

Ted: "Hey, who bought me this crazy expensive drink?"
Bartender: "Some girl."
Ted: "OH MY GOD SOME GIRL MUST BE MY DREAM GIRL BECAUSE OF THIS DRINK! I MUST STALK HER AND WEAR HER LIKE A SKIN SUIT"

You joke but that perfectly describes Ted. Also, "some girl" could easily be pointed out by the bartender. They tend to remember the pretty ones.

Not only does Ted not ask who the drink was from (other than asking the gang), the bartender hears him asking the gang and doesn't even bother to say anything. Fucking cock-blocking Linus.
EDIT: when you think about it, all Linus had to say was that the girl bought him the drink when he found out he punched Darren. Marshall would've known who the girl was and introduced Ted to her.
So I guess this whole weekend Lilly, Marshall and Robin (when she meets the mother) won't even make any mention of the mother to Ted even in passing conversation? I don't expect Barney to as he met her a few months back, but the others?
Ok, I'm overthinking it.

BTW, nice touch on having the mother wear driving gloves (a reference to the season premiere).

Actually, I can totally see Ted being completely oblivious to someone who's actually attracted to him (re: not asking the bartender who bought the drink)
edited to add: And by that, I mean Ted tends to see these crazy little details that turn him into stalker mode (like, say, finding out she's into Weird Al), but would totally ignore such an obvious, classic flirting method like someone buying him a drink.

How I Met Your Mother is bowing out early.
CBS on Thursday announced that the long-running comedy will wrap its 24-episode final season with an hour-long episode on Monday, March 31. (The good news about the show’s winter exit? Save for two Olympics-fueled repeats, the show will air all originals from Jan. 13 to March 31.)
