I thought this was the best episode of the season, the main story was great.
Hopefully we get a scene with Javadi, a broken bottle, and Dana in a room together at some point.

so those pregnancy tests? did she take a bunch of tests over a short period of time or were those tests from the past? is it brody's kid? interesting.
please, please tell me this is the way to write Dana off the show. please, please, for the love of god. i will give anything for that.

Danes said in the "Behind the Episode" after it aired she keeps taking them hoping for a negative, so I would assume they are all recent, hence the title of the episode.

After such a terrible start, this show has completely redeemed itself.

Yeah, strong past couple episodes. Saul's had a bad couple days. Feel kinda sorry for him. Still can't believe Brody's only showed up for one episode thus far.

That was all kinds of awesome. I didn't think the season got off to a bad start, just a slow start and probably not the start most people were hoping for.
But right now, this show is firing on all the cylinders that made it so praiseworthy during season 1 and it certainly appears like it will continue.
I hate the Dana bashing, so I won't, but either the writers decided all the fan hate was enough or that's definitely not the end of her story. They couldn't have gone this far with a storyline that they admitted they knew that fans didn't like (overwhelmingly and to the point where the showrunners felt badly for the actress) just to have her walk out the door.
Next week can't come soon enough.

I liked it a lot as well. It's a different show now, but I don't mind a "Carrie, Saul & Quinn Save the World" show. I was wondering about if it's Brody's kid. I assume so, though that means she has to be at least 3 months preggers now, and she'd probably start showing I think.

Yeah that was an awesome episode. The murders were fucking vicious.
Loved Saul punching him at the end after he have that arrogant smirk.
I have to believe that was Dana being written out. There is simply nowhere to go with her character.

Great episode, as it shows that they could have killed off Brody and written off his family, and the show wouldn't have skipped a beat. I was down on this show early in the year, but now I can't wait for Sunday nights!

I do think the show has picked up, but still I'm not too emotionally invested in the new "bad guy". Abu Nazir was a guy you knew was evil and could really hate. This guy and his tenuous connection to the bombing and to a legendary former soccer player in Caracas? Yeah, that doesn't do much for me. And why are they trying to turn him rather than nabbing him? There's a lot that doesn't make sense to me. And why isn't everyone at the CIA focused on bringing in Brody (who is clearly the most wanted man in the world)? It seems Carrie is the only agent who hasn't forgotten about him.
I'm not out on the show -- I still enjoy it enough in the moment to keep watching (and watching in real-time, while Boardwalk Empire is beginning to lag behind for me), but comparing this season favorably to Season 1? Slow down there, we're nowhere near that level of quality and intrigue. That was a season with a clear vision; this season feels like they're making it up as they go along. At least the most recent course-correction looks promising.

I have to wonder if this is more-or-less the outline they had for Season 2 back when they were going to have Brody set off the bomb at the end of Season 1.

Oh, I forgot one more thing I wanted to mention after the episode :
Dana tries to refuse the $300 debit card from her mom because "I have to do this on my own" on the very same day that she hits her mom up for a ride to the courthouse to change her name. Baby steps, apparently.

They would have ran her blood work in the mental hospital and have found out she was preggers, right?

And you're trusting this awful guy will be loyal to your cause why exactly? Because you've accused him of embezzling from Iran? This isn't like the situation with Brody where he had so much to lose (and where you can keep close tabs on him). I think the whole storyline is preposterous.

I don't. This show has gone back to what made it so fantastic in the 1st season.
Because they will kill him and probably everyone he's ever cared about there if his embezzling is revealed. Turning him keeps him alive, which most people care about.

Revealed to whom, exactly? It's not like the US and Iran are close diplomatic partners. And this guy has proven he can't be trusted at least twice now.

revealed to the iranians that he was cheating his own people/government. As mentioned, they'd probably torture him and kill or imprison all his family and friends. Don't need to be diplomatic partners to send them an email with the proof, or just put it in the newspaper.

Frankly, I find it one of the MORE plausible things on this show. It's simple blackmail, which is pretty much as old as prostitution. That's because it's effective.
