Brooklyn Nine-Nine - "The Vulture" - 10/15/13
"The Vulture," a detective (guest star Dean Winters) from Special Crimes, takes over Jake's nearly solved murder case and steals his thunder. Over a few drinks, Jake enlists the precinct to get revenge and find the murder weapon before "The Vulture" does. Across town, Captain Holt and Gina help Terry get re-certified to carry a gun in the all-new "The Vulture" episode of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE airing Tuesday, Oct. 15 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (BRK-104) (TV-14 D, L, V)

Another solid outing. This has rapidly become my favorite show of the new season. Every character adds something. Gina was hilarious on the shooting range, and I still love Rosa's non-sequiters ("Hitchcock farts constantly"). They're wisely incorporating the whole cast, and not just making this an Andy Samberg vehicle (which would get old pretty fast)

Terry Crews is killing it on this show. Everything he does his hilarious. Samberg is hit and miss. He's necessary for the show, but a lot of his jokes just fall flat.

And it should only get better, as the writers learn just what lines the actors can make funny. The best analogy I can think of is Kramer on Seinfeld. I'm sure if someone had never seen an episode of that show, and read a script, they probably wouldn't find Kramer funny at all. But once the writers knew about Michael Richards' mannerisms and delivery, they could write lines that only he could make funny. The characters may not be exactly what the creators dreamed up, the actors are starting to have input. And once they're all on the same page, it can really be funny. Or in this case, funnier, as it's funny already.

Once again, this show delivers. I love Samberg but I really like the fact that's such an ensemble comedy.
It pulled a 1.5 again last night. Isn't that usually the thresold for cancellation/renewal? I know they ordered additional scripts, but I just hope this can start pulling in some more viewers to warrant them being produced.

1.5 is pretty alright for Fox, it depends on how it's doing on the +3 and +7. ie - the 2nd episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine scored a 1.8 live rating, but had a 2.8 with +7. Dads went from a 1.5 to a 2.1.

Definitely my favorite comedy of this new season. It hasn't necessarily gotten better to me, but it's been rock solid week after week. I sure hope it lasts. (And I love the 70s-esque-themed opening.)

Great episode! I'm liking this show more and more. Also liked the fact, that the gang worked together (kind of) instead of trying to outdo one another especially Santiago and Peralta.

I just started watching the series and got caught up on all the episodes. It's pretty darn funny, my girlfriend and I both enjoyed it a lot so far. I like all the characters except Gina, who is absolutely terrible. She was less annoying in this episode, but nothing she says/does seems to fit in with everything else that's going on and I don't find her funny at all.

I echo the sentiments of really enjoying the whole cast.
Crews is the lead scene-stealer, but the rest of the cast has its moments, too.
Narrow hips, broad shoulders!

Surprised how good this is right from the gate, and I also love that they are making full and effective use of the cast, even their two "Jerrys" (except for Gina, I agree with the anti-Gina sentiment.)
Also, while the other girl is cute, Stephanie Beatriz couldn't be any hotter.

The little things kill me about this show.
They all go out for drinks and they show them all having a round and Hitchcock and the other old guy are the only two going to town on a ton of wings. It then obviously sets up the gas joke.

Back 9 have been ordered, and will air post-Super Bowl along with New Girl.
Fox has picked up nine additional episodes of the arresting new comedy "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," bringing the series to a 22-episode order, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" will join "New Girl" in a special one-hour comedy event, airing immediately following the Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014.
"It's exciting to see that both critics and fans love 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' as much as we do,” said Reilly. “With Andy and Andre out in front of this incredible ensemble, it feels like this show is going to be around for a long time.”
Created and written by Dan Goor ("Parks and Recreation") and Michael Schur ("Parks and Recreation," "The Office") "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" stars Andy Samberg as a talented, but carefree, detective and Andre Braugher as the new precinct captain with a lot to prove.
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is produced by Universal Television, 3 Arts Entertainment and Fremulon.

Fantastic news that this got the back 9. FOX has been great showing some confidence with shows that may not get great overnight ratings.
Giving it the post Super Bowl slot is even better. I kind of like the idea of putting a lighter show like this in that slot as opposed to a 1 hour drama. Rarely do the ratings improve for a 1 hour drama with the post Super Bowl timeslot.
