i am looking for a monitor for my computer... but when thinking about it i will need a new TV next year, and was thinking of doing hte flat panel thing.... i hear some can be used as monitors as well... i was wondering what was a good route. i was planning on spending about 1K for the computer monitor, but if spending more would save me from buying a tv next year that is cool. PLEASE any help or insight... thanks

Why not just buy a video card with TV out and a Sony Wega? That's what I would do if I had the money. Something like a Matrox G400. That has excellent TV-out capability and is the top of the line when it comes to 2D cards. Plus the G400 Max has dual outputs so you can connect one to your existing monitor as well, and have 2 screens to look at..... aka double the screen realestate.
