Buying my first multi region player...Any tips?
Recently I missed out on K-mart's $39 seiki, seeing that made me realize I really needed to quit dragging my feet and pick up a multi-region player. The PS3 handles most of what I own, my region B blu's are few and far between. Enough to warrant me buying a player, but not enough to warrant me spending a fortune.
Anyone have any tips on getting one for a decent price, maybe a specific website or model I overlooked. I'd like to get one that can handle PAL too, I've heard of a few Toshiba models bypassing the region lock, but not being able to handle some of the extras due to the PAL issue. If that's the difference between 60 bucks and 160 bucks, I can deal with not being able to watch some extras haha.
Anyway, any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!

I'm happy with my LG. Pretty much any model will work. You can get a hardware chip mod from Ebay. Search for "lg blu ray multi region upgrade" and you will find the dealer. Chip comes from Latvia and takes maybe a week or so. You install the chip (double-sided tape) and solder a half dozen or so leads (yeah, it voids the warranty), upgrade with the firmware he links to you and Bob's your uncle. It takes some decent soldering skills (use a good magnifying lens). Plays PAL and all regions of DVD and Blu-ray. It's a hardware mod, so anytime you upgrade the firmware, just re-upgrade the firmware that you get with the mod and you never lose the region-free. He also offers other brands (search his sales). I bought my LG for $120 on sale plus the $50 or so for the chip. Plus, the LG plays nearly any file I've ever thrown at it (you can connect a USB thumb drive or hard drive to it). AVIs, MP4, MKVs, etc.
