Target DVD prices (September 1st - 7th, 2013)

Vampire Diaries: The Complete Forth Season
* Exclusive bonus disc. The ad gives the impression it's for DVD only $34.99

Revolution: The Complete First Season
* Exclusive power pendant. The ad gives the impression it's for DVD only $34.99

Scandal: The Complete Second Season
* Exclusive bonus content - bonus disc? $29.99

- - -

Now You See Me $14.99

Empire State $11.99

- - -

"Reheem Devaughn - A Place Called..." with 2 exclusive bonus songs $9.99
"Ariana Grande - Yours , Truely" with exclusive poster $9.99

Information from Bainbridge's_Stache from Forum Blu-Ray dot com.

Once again, I'm in the dark as to what the bonus thing is; DVD or Blu. I'll have to think about "Vampire Diaries" S4 and perhaps pick up "Revolution" S1.

Re: Target DVD prices (September 1st - 7th, 2013)

I'm interested in:

Haven: The Complete Third Season
Spartacus: War of the Damned - The Complete Third Season
Person of Interest: Season Two
Revolution: The Complete First Season
Now You See Me

I may not be able to pick all these up next week though, even if there are decent prices. At least none of them have exclusives I'd need to worry about, at least from Target.

Re: Target DVD prices (September 1st - 7th, 2013)

Looks like the wallet might get a break next week.

I'm going to hold off on Vampire Diaries since those seasons usually drop to below $20 pretty quickly. In fact, I think I got S3 for under $10 during BF last year. I enjoyed Revolution but not enough to pay $35 or $40 to own it. I never could get into Scandal so won't be getting that even with the $10 coupon on http://www.abctvondvdcoupon.com.

Thanks for posting the ad, John.

Scandal's cheaper at Target than BB plus 5% off with the credit card. Sold.

I am planning on waiting for TVD just like every other year. It drops fast. Walmart and Amazon both had it Black Friday for under $10.

Thanks John!

Short list, nothing for me. Maybe in-store?

Does the Vampire Diaries exclusive only comes with the DVD version? I've been to a couple Targets and I only see the DVD with the exclusive sticker, not the Blu-Ray. Anyone seen the BD version?

Re: Target DVD prices (September 1st - 7th, 2013)

*sigh*

First off the power pendant is a thin piece of tin (maybe pewter), it does not light up. Not exclusive packaing for it. It's in a tiny transparent box attached to the DVD case (in the front).

My store (San Bernardino, CA) did not have any copies of this nor S4 of "The Vampire Diaries" (exclusive). They had two copies of each, both were sold out - I was at the store at 10:40am.

I went to the Target in the next town over to find it. The Loma Linda, CA store had three copies of each this morning. Well... two since I took home VD.

Wait - that sounds wrong.

I did not see any BD copies of "Revolution" (with exclusive). But the DVD edition does have the (non)power pendant. I really thought this would light up. It's cheap looking. I'm glad I don't have to concern myself over it. I'll pick up S1 at a later date.

It is a bonus disc for the "Vampire Diaries". It comes inside and is incorporated into the case, a six disc DVD case. *nods* The sixth disc is 30:06 minutes from the 2012, San Diego Comic Con; Q&A panel with cast and creators. Sorry, no screen snap, there is no menu screen. It just plays.

Yes, I think.

Pulled out the ad. It shows both exclusives as DVDs, not Blu-Rays. I believe this is for DVD only.

The BD for Revolution has additional content, so I shall likely get that instead of the DVD. Same for Now You See Me.

Frustrating though, I really prefer DVD's whenever possible. And I appreciate that Person of Interest has the same content on both formats. Seems to be the same for Haven (not that I've yet seen the Haven BD in person to check), but that appears to be the case.

In-store, I noted that the TV titles in the under $15 TV section are on sale for the next two weeks. Those include the first two seasons of Leverage and the last two seasons of Prison Break.

I picked up Bob's Burgers S1 for $9.99 this week. Pretty good deal.
