Re: Family Video - Blu-ray 2 for $4 in store
I went to Grafton store today, didn't see any Blu's stickered for $5, and didn't see any signs saying 2 blu's for $4. They had a dvd deal sign up. They had numerous copies of John Carter Blu, and all stickered at $7.99. I'll have to check other stores I guess. First time in a family video btw.

My store didn't have any signs. I asked the girl where the Blu-rays are and if they were 2 for $4. She said yes. They have stickers on them for lesser deals.

Checked 3 other stores today, none of them were doing this deal & looked at me like I was crazy when I asked about it. Since I hate wasting my time I went back to the other store & found a few more that I missed yesterday....

They've had this for a while; I bought Super and Cop Out (retail edition) for $2 each a few weeks ago. Most others were either cruddy or movies I already had and paid much more for. Grrrr.

It seemed like a YMMV situation dependent on individual store stock. My record of sharing deals speaks for itself.

Re: Family Video - Blu-ray 2 for $4 in store
That's what I don't like about Family Video - how they've got the ones for sale out on the shelves rather than in a central used section. I get the logic; customers may just decide to buy something when they were looking to rent, but it's a drag to have to comb the whole store to find deals.
Also, when it's possible to get Blu-rays for $2 (or $5 with Beast Buy's U&S) makes it hard to look at $7-$8 as a good price. I know it's madness when not so long ago we'd get moist for 2/$20 DVD sales, but after looting out closing HWV and BBV stores for a buck or two a pop, 3/$21 at FV seems a little pricey.

Re: Family Video - Blu-ray 2 for $4 in store
Hey, as I always remind my g/f, we used to eagerly scan the Sunday ad circulars to see what the new release DVD prices would be. The example I always use is paying $17 for Original Sin in March 2002. Now I wouldn't pay that much for a single movie unless it was a Criterion or buried in extras.

Re: Family Video - Blu-ray 2 for $4 in store
There was no sign or anything some of them had '2 for $4' stickers on them. When she rang them up and said $10.60 I was like "what?" She said, "They were 10 for $10." I should have grabbed more. I have an appointment next Friday in town. I already have Don't be Afraid of the Dark so I'm going to exchange that and grab some more.

Re: Family Video - Blu-ray 2 for $4 in store
Went to the Family Video in Berkley, MI and picked up Hereafter and Contagion from the 2/$4 rack and they ran up at that price; no dollar joy for me. Also got The Dictator Unrated for $5.
Most newer Blu-rays are $7.99 or 3/$21 including all the Silver Linings Playbook copies there tonight, so I'm not sure what happened a few weeks back when I got it for $5.
EDIT: I see junglalien got Contagion as well, but his price code was 605; my 2/$4 titles are PC 820. (Dictator was PC 675)

Re: Family Video - Blu-ray 2 for $4 in store
I've been to about seven of these stores in Milwaukee, Madison and even Portage in the last week. I usually only found a few DVDs for 2 for $4, no blu's for that price. The last one I went to in West Allis had a bunch of DVDs for $1, but no art, just the disc in a clear case. Looks like I'll wait for the next sale to see if the ones around me participate with blu's.
