Elmore Leonard Has Died
Elmore Leonard, a legendary crime novelist and screenwriter who wielded sharp prose and created quirky misfit characters to captivate a legion of readers, has died, his literary agent said today.
The 87-year-old writer, who had been recovering from a stroke, wrote novels in the crime and western genres, short stories and screenplays.
He recently won a lifetime achievement award from the National Book Foundation.
Read a number of his books. He was quite a prolific author.

I heard about the recent stroke, but hoped he'd pull through. A major loss to the literary world. Sounds like he was in the middle of writing his 47th(!) novel. A true Grand Master if there ever was one.
I still have several of his old paperbacks in my to-read pile...I need to get on those.

Re: Elmore Leonard Has Died
I've really enjoyed his books--there aren't too many I haven't read. I'm glad I got introduced to them (via several really good movies), and sad there won't be any more coming out.
