Graceland (USA) -- Series Thread

Synopsis for "Bag Man":

Briggs and Bello's new bond is tested when the Caza cartel offers a dangerous ultimatum, leading Mike to push past his comfort zone for the sake of the case.

Tonight is episode 8 of 12

I'm about 2 weeks behind on this, but I think a Series thread is probably the way to go here.

I'm leaning towards doing that for most of the shows this Fall season. Only select procedurals will get episode threads.

Re: Graceland (USA) -- Series Thread

The first couple of episodes were nothing special but the season-long arc has had a few surprises, which has made Graceland an eminently watchable show.

Renewed for a 2nd season today. Since Burn Notice is gone, this will probably be the anchor for USA summers.

I know this show hasn't really caught on here, but it's growing on me.

I think it's pretty dang good. I don't usually watch USA shows (Psych is the only other I watch) but this doesn't seem like a USA show to me.

Yeah, I thought this was going to be a usual crime-of-the-week drama. The fact that it's not & that the storyline has been pretty compelling made this one of my favorite shows of the summer.

I'm surprised the season thread only has 5 total replies!

This thread was created during week 8. Most of the other threads were quite quiet. I'm guessing most in this forum blew the show off because they thought it was just another fluffy USA crime procedural. A lot of the USA dramas besides Burn Notice have never been really popular here for whatever reason.

Re: Graceland (USA) -- Series Thread

The show started off very badly, which I think hurt its popularity. But the show has gotten better each week and it's now a very good series. The pilot felt like another poor USA series but its storytelling has progressed far beyond that point in recent episodes.

USA needs to be smart and get this up on Netflix ASAP.

It got much better when they stopped playing coy about Briggs...once they leaned into his evil doings, it got a helluva lot better. Really looking forward to tonight's finale but sure we'll get a huge cliffhanger of some kind.

That become pretty blatant in the second half of the season. USA really didn't market this series very well. It turned out to be a glossier version of the Shield by the season finale.

The finale wrapped things up nicely, while still allowing some lingering storylines and a plausible continuation for season two.

I thought the same for The Shield and it ran for seven wonderful seasons.

Um comparing Graceland to the Shield is like comparing Roseanne Barr to Kate Upton

or a piece of dog turd to a Aston Martin Vantage

That's interesting, I guess she is positioning herself for her post-Haven career.

Re: Graceland (USA) -- Series Thread

For those who missed Graceland last summer. All 12 episodes from season 1 are currently available on demand. Directv has it. Season 2 premieres June 11th.

I missed a few episodes last summer and was pleasantly surprised to see all 12 episodes available on demand and in HD. There is no Blu-Ray planned. The DVD comes out next month (June 3rd)

I'm going to keep this as the thread for the series this summer.

Re: Graceland (USA) -- Series Thread

I DVR'd this show last summer and binged it on later. I thought it was an ok show, but I agree with a couple of other posters I'm surprised it got a second season.
