I have a 65" Toshiba and was wondering what it would look like using the component-video & fiberoptic cable for audio? Anyone with a big HDTV have PS2 yet?

1st generation PS2 games are still constricted to NTSC resolutions. PS2's HD support, while theoretically possible, has yet to be proven by Sony and developers.

I am not an expert on this area by any means. However I have SSX and it has an option for 4:3 or 16:9 Widescreen. Is this so that people with 16x9 TV sets can play the game in full screen or is it to do with something else altogether? http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

There's a difference between 16x9 and HD, though.

Though a true HD Tv is 16:9. Digital TV is 4:3, HDTV is 16:9. SO, if you have HDTV, or a standard widescreen TV, and you play SSX in 16:9 mode, then you get fullscreen with a 16:9 TV. ANd, no, there is no letterbox mode for 4:3 TVs. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/frown.gif

I was just surprised to see this option in a game. Do any of the other PS2 games have the same option. I am curious as SSX is the only one I currently own. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
