Suits -- Season Premiere -- "The Arrangement" -- 7/16/13
Synopsis:
In the Season 3 premiere, new partner Darby assigns Harvey a high-stakes case. Elsewhere, Mike tries to make things right with Harvey and deal with the fallout from his revelation to Rachel.
16 episode 3rd season. I liked how the show changed from procedural case of the week to more serialized storytelling in season 2.

Apparently Michelle Fairley isn't the only GoT cast member guesting this season. Conleth Hill (Lord Varys) is also prominently featured in the TV spots.

Great start to season 3.
I actually like that Harvey and Mike's relationship has fallen apart. Adds a different dynamic to the show. Plus, Harvey hates this merger and hates Jessica for going through with it. Lots of conflict.
Cat Stark was almost unrecognizable with the shorter hair and business suit. I like her as the new client.
Love that the writers have given Sarah Rafferty a lot meatier scenes and dialogue. Donna is obviously hot, but she's so much more interesting as a character now.
at her scene with Louis and the pen stain.

Best show on USA and one of the most underrated shows on TV. The battle between Harvey and Jessica should be pretty good.

Did this episode seem "off" for anyone else? I dunno... Not bad (I liked it even), it just felt like the tone didn't work. Like the Hitler gag was too forced and the dialog felt overdone. Like they snuck in David E. Kelley over the break.

I think the tone was about the same. The tone, especially in the relationships, got somewhat hostile towards the tail end of last season. Especially after the merger.

I love the show but hated this episode. I prefer when Harvey and Mike are aligned. I guess I enjoy the bromance aspect of the show. But it's ludicrous for Harvey to be mad at Mike's light disloyalty when he burns literally every bridge he comes across.
Also, Michelle Markel lost way too much weight, she looks terrible now.
The resolution of this whole arc is pretty transparent, but maybe they'll surprise me.

I don't love where this show has gone. It used to be mainly about Mike, a really smart guy with no law degree, and Harvey, a smart lawyer who takes him under his wing. Now it feels all over the place.

I'm just the opposite. I really wasn't crazy about the show the first season, but really enjoyed last season.

NBA contracts for superstar players aren't very difficult to negotiate b/c of the CBA and the salary cap. It's more about where you want to play rather than the money. You would thought the writers would have known that.
