4th was ruined by the massive French influence. It's something I never noticed when it came out at the theater but between then and last year when I revisited it again, I'd watched a bunch of French films.

I've heard a lot of good things about the extremely extended edition of Alien 3 included in this set. I remember that version circulated as an expensive boot on Ebay before they turned it into an official release for this set. Anyone seen it yet? I own this, but haven't gotten past Alien yet.

I know people who absolutely hated the original theatrical version of Alien 3 but loved the extended "work print" version that is available in this set.

Ordered a copy last night so I can see for myself.

I still haven't watched either of the AVP films or Prometheus.

consider yourself VERY lucky. The first 2 Alien movies were where things should have stopped.

Why So Blu?

The Alien 3 "assembly" cut is worth it along with the documentary. Great stuff.

Great tip! Gonna deff order this. I must be the only person on the planet to have enjoyed Prometheus (especially in its native 3d) but never checked out these originals.

The work print of Alien3 is good. Excellent price for the set. I got it for $29.99 from Amazon last year just in time to refresh on the films before Prometheus opened so timing wise the price was right for me but it's an excellent bargain today.

No Sir, you are not alone. I LOVED Prometheus (although I acknowledge that it had its flaws). The 3D BD release is also one of my favorites. So happy Prometheus 2 is moving forward.

However, you will really love this set and you'll be hard pressed to find anyone that doesn't enjoy the 1st two films. They're both classics! You're in for a treat.

Fantastic deal on a set that pretty much EVERY Blu-ray adopter should own. I have a soft spot for the 3rd film and don't really enjoy the 4th, but the bonus features more than make up for it.

Did anyone see the customer review on the right side of the review page that said:

"If you don't have a 2013 / 2014 Blu-Ray player then this set will never play properly."

Anyone know what that is about or to what potential issue that person is referring?

(BTW I ordered the set as well).

^I bought this set last year and so far I've watched the first three movies on my 2008 Sony Blu-ray player, with no problems. I haven't tried out all the features, though.

The set came out in 2010, so the person who wrote that is demented.

I thought Prometheus was great. The Director's Cut of Alien 3 was much better and more involved.

I assume you mean the Workprint Cut and yeah, it's definitely better than the theatrical version. Since Fincher pretty much disowned the movie, I doubt we'll ever get anything resembling a true "Director's Cut".
