Saw this yesterday. I'm not a huge fan of "social issue" films, indie or otherwise so I was a bit hesitant to see this. I should not have been.
The movie centers around Grace (Brie Larson), who along with her boyfriend Mason, works as "front line" staff at a group home for foster kids. They're not really counselors, they just attend to the day-to-day and make sure the kids are safe. The movie moves along their story (as Grace is dealing with news from her doctor) and the story of a handful of kids in the home. The acting all around is incredible, especially from Keith Stanfield, who plays Marcus, who has a week before he turns 18 and gets sent out into the real world.
I recommend this to anyone even remotely interested.

I thought this movie was fantastic. The acting was great. I've been a fan of Brie Larson for a long time now. This was such a great breakthrough grown up role for her. I think she has some accolades coming her way. She might get the Spirit Award... I feel her performance is good enough for an Oscar nom, but too much to compete with there.

I saw that this was on Vudu the other day. Maybe I'll convince the wife to check it out. It sounds good.

I just got around to watching this a bit earlier. Really solid movie. Brie Larson was great and the kids, particularly Keith Stanfield and Kaitlyn Dever gave amazing performances.

Just popped in the Blu-ray and gave this a rewatch. Still such a great piece of work. So many up and coming actors in this. Brie, Lakeith Stanfield, Rami Malek, Katilyn Dever (will somebody please give this girl a leading role to breakthrough in??), John Gallagher, Jr., and Stephanie Beatriz.
It looks like Creston has a nice cast lined up for his next feature, Just Mercy, with Brie, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Foxx, Tim Blake Nelson, and O'Shea Jackson, Jr.
This is up on Prime, Hoopla, Vudu w/ ads, tubi if anyone is interested. Highly recommended.

this was my first foray into Brie, but i have no idea why i got it or actually watched it. but, i loved it and her ever since. still got to see Free Fire, even though wasn't well-received...
