Continuum -- Season Premiere -- "Second Chances" -- 6/07/13
Synopsis:
Kiera resurfaces after the Mayor is killed in a brazen assassination. She reunites with Carlos to solve the murder and also tries to reconnect with Alec, who has changed since reading the message from his future self.
13 episode 2nd season
This is already airing in Canada. They are 7 weeks ahead of us. Since this hasn't aired in the U.S. yet, please don't post any spoilers or talk about future episodes.
Interesting note that Roger Cross is starring in 2 Canadian shows simultaneously. He's starring in Continuum and Motive, which airs on ABC here and CTV in Canada.

Kind of a meh season premiere.
I don't know, I felt like the episode got off to a really strange start with the dream/future sequence. I think that threw everything off for me.
Then when things resumed in the present time, I felt like I was missing an episode to help set up this storyline. Besides showing the resolution to the cliffhanger with Sonya shooting Travis, I felt like they jumped forward several weeks, if not months from the end of last season. The characters were acting differently, especially the way Kiera and Alec were treating each other. Kiera all of the sudden resurfaces after being gone for how long? and immediately starts working with Carlos again.
The biggest revelation was the change in power with Sonya taking over as leader of Liber8.
Glad the eye mole is now gone from Rachel Nichols.
And btw, why the hell did they bleep out bullshit? This is a 10pm basic cable show.
I didn't quite get the ending with old Alec. It seemed to tie in with the opening with Kiera.

I missed this last night due to sheeting rain in Boston and DirecTV. I just looked and I'm shocked it's not repeated at all during the week. I can buy it off Amazon for 2.99 HD.

I'm in the same boat... but as I've been on the fence with this show, I may take it as a sign to ditch it. Stupid that they aren't re-airing it.

Pretty good premier, but I agree something felt off like there was an episode skipped. At this point I'm in for the story and some good sci-fi, but holistically this has a lot to be desired next to something like Orphan Black.
Will be interesting to see how Travis plays out since he's still alive. Might actually be cool if he switches to help Kira.
I wonder why she told the agent but not Carlos. Carlos at least seems like he's catching on that there is more to her than meets the eye.
I do like how the story is getting larger and is having an impact on the larger world. Building collapse and forgetting offer are good examples.
DJ I think implication is old Alec sent the situation to Kira. Maybe virtual dream training? Husband seemed like he was in on it. Didn't he talk to old Alex in the premier just before the incident?
I thought the present time bay to future city sequence was really cool. Crime scene graphics were great too.

Doesn't DirecTV have OnDemand? Fios had the S2 Continuum premiere available OnDemand this morning in HD and SD. If you have a cable/satellite provider with Syfy OnDemand, then the lack of repeats should not be an impediment to watching Continuum S2.
Superman07, I agree with you - a good premiere, but overall Continuum is nowhere near as good as Orphan Black.

It gets better, trust me. I really liked the first season, but I'm enjoying the 2nd season a lot more. Feels like there's more at steak.
The Canadian versions I've been watching are intact.

I won't post any spoilers. Just saying that season two has gotten interesting, so if you're thinking of ditching, I suggest you stick with it and see if you like the season.

I do love that Krycek is basically playing the same kind of asshole he played on X-Files. It's great to see him get his ass handed to him.

As for the episode itself, not as good as last season so far. Hopefully it picks up.

Some good news. 1.42M viewers and 0.4 in the demos watched. That was higher than the season 1 average and especially good since there was no re-airs of the episode.
As I posted earlier, Showcase in Canada already renewed the show for a 3rd season. If it continues to get these kind of numbers, SyFy will most likely pick it up as well as they have done with Lost Girl.

The second season gets better as the episodes progress. 2x07 has a couple of great WTH moments that we weren't expecting and that upped the ante for Kira and Alex.
