Re: Criterion sale at Best Buy

Amazon's already matched on Medium Cool and Repo Man. Perhaps there will be others?

Man, I want the BBS set for $60. The four better-known pictures in that set are all faves of mine.

Thanks for the heads up! I had a lot of RZ certificates so I picked up everything that's been on my list for a while:

Ministry of Fear
The Blob
Last Temptation of Christ

Repo Man
Naked Lunch

Re: Criterion sale at Best Buy

Thanks. Been waiting for Shallow Grave to come down a bit. Amazon has not matched that one yet and it's not available in store so I just ordered it with the free shipping. It will probably take a week to get here, but it's better than not getting it at all.

Is this sale going on in stores, also? I know BB price matches their website, but I'd just as soon not have to deal with going thru their customer service desk .

Yes, but they don't have that many titles in store since they've been reducing media space. I'll have to deal with the CS desk tomorrow since I bought Badlands at $26.99 on Saturday morning and they reduced it to $19.99 on Saturday night.

Re: Criterion sale at Best Buy

Ha! My order from B&Ns 40% off sale just came in yesterday too- with Two Lane Blacktop and The Blob @$24 each. If it were a buck or two I wouldn't sweat it, but $8 is nearly half off another movie.

So in addition to re-ordering those two, I added Medium Cool and The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp.

Medium Cool wasn't on my radar until an hour ago, but looking into the movie it sounds like something I'm very much looking forward to seeing now.

Re: Criterion sale at Best Buy

Having a very tough time deciding whether to jump on these or wait until B&N's sale in July--under the presumption that again, for the first day or two, they'll be buy 2, get 1 free. Tough call...

Re: Criterion sale at Best Buy

I went to my nearest Best Buy store today and picked up Badlands and The Man Who Knew Too Much. The store only had one other Criterion disc (Rosemary's Baby), but I already owned that one. Now I'm debating how much more I might spent.

Re: Criterion sale at Best Buy

Got THE LIFE AND DEATH OF COLONEL BLIMP for $19.79 at Amazon and had it shipped to my brother in Chicago to save on tax. I can just take it with me next time I go visit. Basically, I hate Amazon now.
