Blockbuster Memorial Day Sale 5/21-5/27

Blockbuster is having a Memorial Day sale which includes BOGO on all of their used BDs and DVDs. I happened to be near one yesterday (the closest one is now 30 miles away, I was going to a show right by it) and was pleasantly surprised.
I got (9.99 each before discount, no rental versions)
The Amazing Spider-Man
Men in Black III
Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter
Prometheus

They also have all of their toys and collectables 75% off and used videos games BOGO

This is the first year I won't be able to go to their Memorial Day sale. All 3 by me closed within the past year

I was at one of the few remaining BBVs on Sunday and their "deal" was B2G1. This is much better, but who knows if I'll get over to another of the remaining stores. I can look out the window and see the empty storefront that was the closest to home for me. Bother.

You're surprised that a rental chain sells used movies?

Re: Blockbuster Memorial Day Sale 5/21-5/27

went by there today. After buying new Blu-ray for $5 from the recent Best Buy upgrade sale, go hasting etc., paying $5-$7 for used Blu-ray didn't appeal to me. I was surprised that the DVDs were pretty much the same price as the Blu-rays. Didn't make sense to me.

Not a bad selection, but my price point for used movies have been lowered... Maybe I am being unrealistic... I would rather pay more for a 2nd disc with special features... Just me...

Picked up Zero Dark Thirty and Argo for $13. The girl asked if it was OK if she transferred them to Blu-ray cases since they were running short of the rental cases. Um, sure. Give me as many as you can. She gave me two bags with three dozen of them. Nice!

Re: Blockbuster Memorial Day Sale 5/21-5/27

bought one for the money and jeff who lives at home for 3.49 each on the sale. was tempted with hatfields and mccoys for 9.99, but really couldn't find anything else at a ten spot. what pissed me off, was they had a bunch of their displays in front of the store, and an employee making sure people didn't run off with the product, but it was in SHAMBLES. dude was just sitting there, shit looked like a tornado, and he had his thumb massaging his prostate.
