So I see we're getting some of that Sopranos-style fucked up dream-hallucination stuff here.

Fucking awesome! Maybe it's because I was a little drunk, but one of the best episodes ever in Mad Men history.

I feel like we missed out on a hell of a good time with whatever Roger must have been doing. But this was fun.

Best line of the night was from Cutler at the very end, when Chaough asked him what Gleason's daughter was doing there, he said something like "What do you mean? I kept an eye on her!"

I LOVE that Cutler and Roger are like long lost twins.

Certainly the best GIF in Mad Men history in any event.

Not really sure what that was, though it was creative and somewhat entertaining. "Grandma" was menacing and very well acted. That ending elevator scene was great too--super awkward and total silence, felt like 20 floors.

Re: Mad Men -- "The Crash" -- 5/19/13

Not sure if I liked this one or not, I think I will have to rewatch it. I'm generally not a fan of these 'weirder' episodes centered around drug trips, dreams, or flashbacks. They are certainly well done, but not really what I want to get out of Mad Men. Boy do they sell the disorientation though. I was coming off a weekend bender myself so it all felt very meta. I was cringing whenever Don came on screen in this episode. He was really struggling to keep it together.

I'm really curious how accurate the portrayals of drug use on this show are. I know the 60s were a time where this stuff permeated popular culture, but was it really this common? People smoking joints at work? People openly using LSD/amphetamines in the office? Drug use among Don/Sterling's generations?

I didn't like it. Weren't they given these drugs to stay alert and focused during the long weekend? I would've like it if somehow they had some really creative work while under the influence.

As someone who has used speed before (full disclosure, I was hooked on the stuff in high school/college, thankfully clean for 11 years)...that never happens. Paranoia and a general craziness is exactly what happens. Last night's episode is pretty accurate depiction.

That being said, I loved this episode.

I almost fell out of my chair when Ken started tap dancing. That is all, thanks for the gif.

I can't talk to accuracy, but the drug use of the type they've shown in an ad agency feels just as right as the mountains of cocaine that are depicted as being used at Wall Street firms in the 80s.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Jacobson

Max Jacobson (July 3, 1900 – December 1, 1979) was a German-born[1] New York physician, nicknamed "Dr. Feelgood"[2] who administered amphetamines and other medications to several high profile clients including President John F. Kennedy. Dubbed "Dr. Feelgood", Jacobson was known for his "miracle tissue regenerator" shots which consisted of amphetamines, vitamins, painkillers, and human placenta.

Sounds similar to what is today referred to as a "speedball" consisting of heroin and cocaine.

all i know is i took some mescaline, had sex with my Puerto Rican nanny and this episode made complete sense. the doors of perception are always closed, and corn is not supposed to be subsidized. donate your bodies to science, you fools.

Great episode. I loved how surreal all the office stuff seemed, but thinking back, it all did happen, nothing was imagined.

So many hilarious moments; the tap dancing, the William Tell routine, the robbery.

Glad to see Sally finally play a major role in one of the episodes.

No Joan, though.
