Together they investigate the new, the strange and the unknown around the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Resurrection — The people of Arcadia, Missouri are forever changed when their deceased loved ones suddenly start to return. The Goldbergs — Before there were parenting blogs, trophies for showing up and peanut allergies, there was a simpler time called the ‘80s. The Goldbergs are a loving family like any other, just with a lot more yelling. Mom Beverly (Wendi McClendon-Covey) is a classic “smother,” an overbearing, overprotective matriarch who rules this brood with 100% authority and zero sense of boundaries. Dad Murray (Jeff Garlin) is gruff, hot-tempered and trying to parent without screaming. Sister Erica (Hayley Orrantia) is 17, hot, terrifying and not one to mess with. Barry (Troy Gentile) is 16, a grade-A spaz with classic middle child syndrome. Adam (Sam Giambrone) is the youngest, a camera-wielding future director who’s crushing on an older woman. Diane (Marcia Gay Harden) is ex-wife number one, an intense, over-achieving doctor and the mother of twin teenagers Hillary (Gianna LePera) and Warren (Ryan Scott Lee). Diane is quick to convey her withering disapproval of Kate’s barely tapped maternal instinct. Ex-wife number two, Jackie (Michaela Watkins), is mother to adopted son Bert (Albert Tsai), and can pull Pete’s strings with her special blend of neurotic, new-ageyness. At first, I was a bit surprised to see Once Upon a Time in Wonderland in the "Thursday 8pm death slot" instead of mid-season Sundays 8pm, but upon reflection I think this makes sense.

I thought the original plan was to have Wonderland bridge the Fall and Spring episodes of Once Upon a Time. However, that probably never made much sense, since there are so many big non-ABC events on Sundays in January and February (football, music awards, Winter Olympics, Golden Globes, etc.).

Does this mean ABC thinks Wonderland might be more family friendly, and potentially draw more viewers, than all the cancelled shows that have aired on Thursdays at 8pm over the past few years?

Also, I read that Once/Revenge will air in two chunks with no repeats (presumably September to November, then March to May). The Quest will most likely air Sundays at 8pm from December to February.

Actually the Tuesday at 8pm timeslot is not bad for Shield.

It's competing against NCIS, The Biggest Loser and the FOX comedies. It's going to at least finish 2nd in the timeslot and probably take away some viewers from NCIS.

NCIS is the most watched show on TV, but a majority of the viewers are over 50, it pulls a relatively low 18 - 49 rating (3.8m of its 17.5m viewers are 18 - 49) for as many viewers as it does get. It isn't a big competitor for SHIELD which will likely skew much younger.

Shield should definitely appeal to that demographic. I would be really surprised if it doesn't premiere with at least a 3.0 to 3.5. Could possibly got as high as 4.0.

It'll be big in the key demo, they likely realized when Avengers came out that a bulk of their audience was in the 18 - 49 demo which is pure $$ for them. The first episode will probably pull closer to Walking Dead ratings (6.4) than NCIS (3.1).

(and for those not keeping track, yes, Walking Dead on AMC gets better demo ratings than anything else on TV and is in the top 10 with overall viewers as well. When Walking Dead is off the air, Duck Dynasty has the 2nd highest demo rating behind Big Bang Theory.)

Paul Lee, ABC's President, said that some of the veteran serial shows will air in 2 batches of 12. So Once Upon a Time, Grey's, Scandal, Revenge etc. will have a 12 episode Fall, take a break and then have a 12 episode Spring with no interruptions.

Ughhh, I was hoping The Taste wouldn't get renewed so Anthony Bourdain could focus all his attention on his CNN show. But he probably loves the network paycheck.

The time slot choice doesn't portend well for the chances that Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a quality show. That hour pretty much precludes any serious, mature storytelling.

None of the Marvel movies have really included serious, mature storytelling, I don't see it starting here. You can get away with PG-13 with no problem at 8:00 pm which is what they're likely aiming for. Plus they know it's going to be huge and an excellent way to launch their 9pm thru 11pm programming.

(If a movie included the gore that a lot of 10 pm shows have these days, I'd be shocked if they were rated R)
