At least it was fully funded.
Would have loved to have gotten a copy with the soundtrack.

I wish I'd known of it earlier. On the official website you can still back it. Shame the physical copy is over $100 as that's the one I want.

Re: Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey
Thanks for the bump. I had completely lost track of the progress of this. I absolutely loved The Longest Journey (definitely one of those games you could point to in the defense of the "video games as art" debate). Dreamfall had many positive attributes, but a gigantic killer negative:

Re: Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey
First episode is out. I am going to DL it tonight. I hear it takes about 5 hours to beat, but since there are 5 episodes being released that is not bad overall for the quality of these games.

Re: Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey
That's 2.5 hours longer than the typical telltale chapter. I wonder if there are actual puzzles in this like old PnC games or if they've gone the interactive novel route that so many people seem to associate as modern adventure gaming.

Re: Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey
I finally finished this! After ending Dreamfall on a cliffhanger, there was no way I was touching this "Chapters" until the entire thing was finished and polished off.
I was nice to finally have an ending to the story (while leaving things open for more stories in this universe). Thankfully they ditched the dodgy stealth and combat gameplay from the last game. Instead it was a mix of traditional adventure game puzzle solving (relatively easy, especially compared to 90s classics of the genre) and TellTale style branching story decisions.
There were some really good moments. And, like the last two Longest Journey games, there were moments where some dialog and cut-scenes long outlasted their welcome, droning on and on. I'm glad I finally got a chance to play it. I'd say it was a must-plan for fans of the first two games. Though it seemed surprisingly inaccessible for people that didn't play the other two games (particularly Dreamfall), especially since they were so long ago. I thought I remembered them pretty well, but found the story getting muddled at times (and I kind of regret not playing them both again right before playing this).
