Re: How I Met Your Mother - "Romeward Bound" - 4/15/13

I never like it when sitcoms pull the whole cliche story about a one person in the couple getting a job far away and deciding to take it or not. I especially don't like it when there is a kid involved and they pretty much ignore what's best for the kid. 'Friends' did this in their final season and it was annoying. HIMYM handled it rather well though.

The other stuff was blah too. They nailed it with Mircea Monroe, she does have a smoking hot body. I didn't like Barney sniping at Ted there at the end, seemed out of place considering there was no apology attached.

Who should have apologized? If the stinger at the end with Barney and Robin is any indication, Ted was completely wrong about Robin. I'm starting to like B&R more and more. He's a public perv, and she's a private perv.

The scene at the table when Barney and Ted were trying to get that woman's coat off had some great banter.

Other than the M&L stuff (they're completely worthless, IMO), this was a great episode. I thought the whole thing with Ted, Barney, and Liddy's coat was awesome.

This is my sentiment as well.

I really like both of them, as characters, and as actors, but yeah, M&L have been worthless for a long time. They of course won the right to everything with that episode when Marshall's father died.

It's the baby syndrome. Once they added the kid, those two characters became worthless.

I really don't understand why shows keep thinking that added a baby is a good idea

Or that progression of characters dictates that couples MUST have a child.

It's a cliche, that HIMYM has already done at least once before.

They get out of ideas, they have too many characters and don't know what to do with them. They are married? Let's have a baby! that will make a lot of funny stories!

Re: How I Met Your Mother - "Romeward Bound" - 4/15/13

C'mon, with Marshall's crazy-close family backstory, there's no way they could NOT have a family on this show. The only other route would be infertility / adoption which I think would be a bigger drag. I think a lot of sitcoms could avoid the baby trap, but I don't think they could have with M&L.

Yeah, Marshall's family is the only reason why they get a pass on this show. It makes sense.

Mircea Monroe does have a ridonkulous body, but since they didn't show it, it's kind of pointless that she was cast for this.

I would like to know how her Google rank changed after the show. We should be able to see a spike in a graph, I think.

Never know, might send people to go watch Hart of Dixie to see what's under the coat.

She's the wedding planner so there's hope for future episodes.
