Question for those that watch: The Americans

Does this show fall more into the 24 camp? or the Homeland camp? Looking for some TV that is a little more 'lighter' fare than Homeland.

If you're looking for something that's in between 24 and Homeland in terms of "lighter fare", try Homeland Season 2.

Or this show.

Probably not a tenth of the action of 24. More like Homeland in that it involves spies and the people investigating them.

Unlike when watching "Homeland", you will feel much less of a desire to reach into the TV and smack the crap out of the female lead when watching "The Americans".

Neither.

My new favorite show and I'm two episodes behind.

I never could get into 24. Homeland was pretty damn good. I rate The Americans right up there with season 1 of Homeland.

It's certainly nothing like 24. The new 24 is "The Following" on Fox.

Re: Question for those that watch: The Americans

I've only seen one season each of 24 and Homeland, but I got the vibe of the latter show when I first started watching The Americans.

The Americans is a lot of things but "light" is not one of them.

Re: Question for those that watch: The Americans

the Americans has more hands on ass kicking than homeland, and if Felicity punching people in the throat is in your wheelhouse this is the show for you.

Americans also features less people getting their heads hack sawed off than 24. nudity level is pg-13, where 24 had none this has russian mole ass and hooker side boob.

the deeper the season is getting, it seems to be moving into heavier emotional cost to the protagonists.

Homeland of course has real nudity.

I wish Netflix would stream that. My interest level went up considerably when I heard that Jonathan Nolan was involved.

You're confusing The Following with Person of Interest.

The Following was created by Kevin Williamson, who wrote the Scream movies.

They will likely stream it at some point, but the first season is still airing so it's going to be a while.
