They did The Inner Light, complete with Jonathan Frakes as old Finn. This show is so great, what can't CN have more cartoons of this caliber? Teen Tians Go trailer looked rough.

I love this show, and I have seen every episode. I'm surprised it really doesn't seem to get any discussion on these boards.

Season 1 is posted now on Netflix. Give it a few episodes (they're short).

I haven't really tried to introduce it to that many people. It's an odd little show. It actually follows a storyline. There is a fleshed out backstory which as more gets revealed really makes the world so fascinating.
I got my girlfriend to watch it, and I think our favorite episode to this day is the one with the keymaster. The songs in that episode are fantastic. I actually have them on my music player.
I would say keep going if you don't like it at first. It starts off slow, but it really develops. It's not a perfect show. There are definite clunkers, and some of the episodes are absolutely bizarre, but those might be my favorites. There are a lot of throwaway visual gags, and yet there are also lots of hidden stuff in episodes if you want to examine them. It has a lot of "adult" humor yet I can't imagine ever not letting a little kid watch it. It really is a great show for both demographics.
Just as an enticement, the voice of Bender from Futurama voices the Jake the Dog character. It's basically the same voice.

The backstory between Marcy and Simon is constantly heartbreaking, even at times it doesn't intend to be. A recent episode was like a kid friendly version of The Walking Dead, but bizarre in a way The Walking Dead never could be.
Is there a timeline on the show? I know according to that episode, where it seemed like

The Marcy Simon relationship is just tragic beyond words to me.

There may have been other throwaway stuff as well, but I think only 2 episodes dealing with them specifically. The Ice King is a great character. I just can't believe how fleshed out the story and world in general is.

My son and I love the show. I want a Marcellene album, her voice is fantastic (she was the little girl from Love Actually) and I love the music.
