And we say it every year, but please don't talk about the books here. There are many here who just watch the TV series and don't read the books. Keep it episode/plot related talk about this episode.

Re: Game of Thrones -- Season Premiere -- "Valar Dohaeris" -- 3/31/13

I'm new to HBO and caught up on GoT through blu ray. This will be my first season in realtime, haha.

Will this be on HBO Go tonight? Or does it appear on Go the next day? Or is it delayed?

Thanks!

EDIT: oops, saw in the other thread that it will probably be simulcast. Guess we'll find out tonight! I don't know how I am going to survive waiting so long between episodes. The first two seasons I got through in a few days, haha.

You can come here and discuss while trying hard to avoid having things spoiled! It's great fun.

heh, you think a week is bad, try the books. After season 1 I blasted through all the books over a few months then a dance with dragons when it came out. Now it will be years before the next one.

Yeah, I'm an avid reader but don't like to start a series until its almost done....apparently when Martin is writing the last book it still won't be almost done, haha.

Yeah, George R.R. Martin's slowness with completing the remaining books is why I stopped reading the books because by the time he finishes the rest, I will have forgotten a lot and I would have to go back and re-read them. And I know it's not much, but he has posted excerpts from the next book in the series ("The Winds of Winter") on his website ( http://www.georgerrmartin.com ).

A bunch of my friends watch this and were telling me I needed to catch up for Season Three and I just finished Season Two last night. Pretty good show and I'm looking forward to watching it as it airs!

Re: Game of Thrones -- Season Premiere -- "Valar Dohaeris" -- 3/31/13

Hosting a feast for 20-25 people with many dishes inspired by www.innatthecrossroads.com for this and the Walking Dead finale. We also procured 4 of the Iron Throne bombers (picked up from Joplin, MO yesterday). Words cannot describe how stoked I am. Now I just need to decide if my next party is episode 9 (as is the GoT custom for big episodes) on Memorial Day weekend or the actual finale again, coupled with my birthday.

Here's our drinking game. Got any other ideas?

Spoiler:
1) Hodor says "Hodor". Everyone must raise their glass and say it too.
2) A direwolf is shown.
3) Someone says "Winter is coming"
4) "You know nothing, Jon Snow"
5) Any time any does or says something that can in any way be considered misogynistic.
6) Any time there's a toast or a character drinks.
7) Tyrion makes a quip.
8) Joffrey acts like a douche.
9) A main character is killed or maimed.
10) A main character kills or maims anyone.
11) Dany uses the word "dragon" in any context.
12) Cersei acts human.
13) Anyone refers to "the game".
14) A boob is visible. One drink per boob.
15) Varys being a eunuch is mentioned
16) New Gods are mentions
17) Old Gods are mentioned
18) "The Night is dark and full of terrors"

I am excited! I hope Jon Snow kicks ass this season. Last season was a bit too emo for me.

Well, I like the show but it isn't something I would say I'm really addicted to watching. It's good and is something different compared to a lot of things I normally like (not usually into fantasy stuff). It is really well made though and I will say the second season hooked me a bit more.
