I've been on the fence with this one. I want a cool looking set for these films but I can't see paying this price for something that has 12 dvds that will never be used. Take those and their stupid UV and shove it and put out a great Blu set.

Yeah, I kind of feel the same way. I want the cool set and the extras but not the DVDs or the UV Digital Copies. Do you think this set will drop sharply once the UV copies expire on September 07, 2014?

Probably not. They also don't necessarily expire on that date, they just can't guarantee they'll work after that date.

It's a good deal in the sense that I think this is the lowest it's been, but I still probably wouldn't pay it. My wife is a big fan and this is one of two series (along with LotR) that she actually appreciates the extras, so I've wanted to get this for her, but I'm waiting for the "regular" version to come out without the fancy box and all of the trinkets.

There are message boards for buying and selling UV codes. You could probably get a good amount for that code. No go for me though as I already have enough Harry Potter versions. No need for one more box.

Way over priced !!
Only disc 1 & 2 are extended editions, not all extras previously released are provided in this box set.
Any one who just wants the BD movies there are 8 movie set available for around $60.

I'd just get the individual Ultimate Editions. Probably would end up costing more than this set, but you get more I think.

This set has everything the ultimates have, plus more. Actually, it has everything all the other released sets have. Or at least it's supposed to.
