Person of Interest - "Proteus" - 03/07/2013
The Machine produces six numbers at once, sending Reese and Finch on a search for clues in a coastal town where they must wait out a storm with a group of locals—one of whom may be a killer.

Sarah Shahi tweeted that she's currently filming an episode right now. Not sure when it will air.

Cool episode. Like one of those murder mystery novels.

Did anyone not know it was the FBI agent? I mean as soon as Finch said the guy took identities, I was like it has to be the guy who looks like he'd at least have a chance in a fight with Reese.

Yeah, it was obvious pretty early on who the killer was. Finch & Reese should have suspected him right away. I also didn't like that Carter assumed the guy was dead, and didn't clear the gun away from him.
Still, a pretty good episode. I want to see where they're taking the storyline with the cop that has the hots for Carter.

I can't think of too many network shows that are this excellent week to week. Even though it was pretty obvious who the culprit was it was still entertaining getting there. I can't wait to see where they go with Harold now that we know he doesn't need the glasses and is pretending to be a lot more vulnerable than he is. He has a lot darker side than we've seen, I suspect.

Definitely obvious that the identity thief was the FBI guy - but was still a good episode. Not sure how Finch can fly a plane like that in a storm like that. Geez..

Where did we see that he doesn't need the glasses? Just cause the FBI guy took them off? I didn't see anything that indicated the glasses were just for show.

Good episode, I am very surprised that even in a stand-alone "bad guy of the week episode" they keep the story arc moving forward.

When the FBI guy took off his glasses and put them on it was in the way he smiled and said "we are the same." Harold didn't start blinking and looking myopic until John showed up.

I don't think those glasses were the normal prop kind with plain clear lens though. I no longer have the episode on my dvr but I remember seeing distortion in the lens as the bad guy took them and they passed in front of the camera which would imply finch does need them
I think the bad guy simply figured out finch was lying about who he was

I agree with you and a couple others who saw the same subtle things. Finch was darker and more confident when dealing with the killer alone. The killer took out his contacts and then tried on Finch's glasses to see if they were real. His reaction (or maybe lack of reaction) at wearing the glasses and Finch's same stare with no squinting implied the glasses were fake and there is more to Finch than we have seen. Once other people showed up, Finch immediately started squinting and talking less confident and more like his "scared" self. I think there was definitely something important to the whole scene.

He put on the glasses because the whole point of that conversation was that the killer was stating his next step was to "become" Finch.
We've seen finch as more confident before - rants against Root, the dinner scene (stock conversation) with the head of the drug company, etc.
As for the squinting - the killer was directly in front of him for the entire scene. No need to squint. We see him squinting again when Carter shows up, who is off in the distance, in the dark. The squinting there would be natural effect of nearsightedness/myopia. It's not like we've ever gotten Finch's prescription details.
but i digress. Some people read into the glasses, some don't. Guess we'll see.
