Thought this would be fun. I'm almost finished with Bayonetta and thought I would let you fine folks choose my next game. I'm leaning towards a longer one just because we will have a new addition to the family here in the next couple weeks and I figure I'm going to be off work for a week or two and have some late nights anyways, so I might as well get him hooked early on enjoying some games

Although if you can get Fallout: New Vegas GOTY, I would recommend that.

If you haven't played Fallout 3 GOTY edition yet, go for that you're in for a treat. I liked it way more than New Vegas but YMMV.

You can't go wrong with any of those, but I had the most fun with Red Dead Redemption Just Cause 2; one of the biggest and best open-worlds ever created, along with a grappling hook and so many other great toys to take advantage of it all.

*[edit] While I loved the Elder Scroll games, Bethesda's Fallout games bored the shit out of me.

A LOT of good games there, but I picked Just Cause 2 because it's one of my favorites of this generation. It's just dumb fun. No great story, no lessons to learn, no emotional connection, just hundreds of square miles of shit to go blow up. You can start, play for a while, go away and come back months later and pick right up where you left off. A really fun play mechanic with a grapple hook that never gets old. Such a fun game.

I voted Red Dead because that's been on my to-play list for a while. I did just finish Arkham City but liked it less than the first game. Fallout would have been my second choice since it's been on my to-buy list for a while, and if you're looking for long, I hear it's long.

I'd go Fallout 3, then Mass Effect, then The Witcher 2.

But yeah, you really can't go wrong with much of anything from that list.

Fallout 3: GOTY.

Lots of good stuff listed, but you mentioned wanting to play a longer game, and that game is a time vampire like no other. I think when all was said and done, I put around 250 hours into that thing. Tons of stuff to do.

I voted Red Dead, but really, you're good with that, Fallout 3, Mass Effect or Just Cause 2, as they're all great games with ample playing time.

Great fantasy game with pretty good dialog imo. Plays fast and there is a ton of game there.

Personally, I hated Fallout 3.

I voted for Mass Effect, since that was my favorite game series of the generation. I'd also recommend Fallout 3 and Deus Ex.
