The Dunphy sub-plot was kind of sad. I was pretty confused when they suddenly just cut away to more comedic subplots involving the other family. I wonder if this is a one episode deal or if they'll further develop this.

"I'll be back in two hours, tops"

"We decide who does what when you come back"

This was an interesting way to present the episode, no intercutting between stories, just tell one then move to the next.

Hi. English is my second language and i didn't unterstand one of the quotes. Phil says "First, we have a date with romance. Threesome, if you will." I didn't understand the pun in that. Pun is about "threesome" i guess?

They don't need to try to get serious on this show. It would ruin it IMO. However, I do think Ty Burrell has somewhat of a Bryan Cranston vibe to him and could do serious stuff well if given the opportunity. Just not on this show.

I didn't get that joke until just now. Good stuff. Episode needed more Clive Bixby though.

It's not really a pun, just a lame Phil joke. In English, if a couple invites someone else to join them for sex it's a threesome. Phil is joking that "Romance" is the third member.

This episode was great. Phil talking to the doctor was hilarious. I cracked up when he started taking off his blazer.

Really liked the presentation for the episode. Felt 'off' but in a good way. Nice to change it up every so often.

He was great in Black Hawk Down and as the prick of the group in the Dawn of the Dead remake.

I'd be okay w/ Julie Bowen sporting the lingerie on a regular basis.

Seriously, what's Dylan's obsession with this family? Who lingers around several families simply because you're dating one of their daughter?

Weekly lingerie pillow fights with Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara?

Never realized Ariel Winter's older brother was the kid from the Addams Family movies

Didn't like the first two storylines, but the Cam/Mitch story hit it out of the park.

Claire: "Haley, revive your sister".

Phil: "This is a huge deal... for which I'm partly responsible, in spite of what Claire's lesbian doctor says"

I'm usually not into Julie Bowen but I felt funny in my pants when she wore the figure skater outfit.

I was confused by something. Why did Jay call Claire and ask about going to the doctor and why did he want Manny to interrupt him at the end?

He was being a dad worrying about his little girl. Remember, she had her "heart attack" earlier.

I didn't get that myself.

Because he's old and couldn't keep up with Gloria
She wanted to keep fucking and he was exhausted.

The phone calls had to do with the letting go of your kids talk he was having with Gloria, shows how even Jay still hasn't "let go".

I took the end as Jay being worn out (says something about his back, I think) and needing a break from Gloria wearing him out.

Okay, cool. My broadcast cut off the beginning of that final gag so I wasn't sure if that's what was going on.

Ahhh, yeah, that makes sense.

I think it's because his own family sucks so much and doesn't support him at all. He sees the exact opposite with this family and wishes he could be part of it. Isn't that clear from, like, every single word of his dialog?

Yeah, that was hilarious. I wish I didn't see it in the commercial for this ep, but it was still funny in the ep.

I think she's supposed to be closer to 30. As in real life, on the show she had her kid when she was very young.
