Matrix 4- Taking a page from XMen 1st Class?

Anyone think to revive this franchise they might just go the 1st Class route, by having it be more lighter, a new group of folks, and just have it be more direct and not so wishy washy? It is the path to life.

I would rather have them burn every copy of Matrix 2 and 3 than make a number 4.

What the hell are you talking about? There wasn't even a Matrix 2 or 3. They should make those first.

If you totally ignore the plot, the second Matrix is a solid action movie. I will never watch Matrix 3 again, for as long as I live.

I always thought they would go the Rocky 4 route with Neo coming back to fight some Russian guy. Either that or I never gave a fuck.

Re: Matrix 4- Taking a page from XMen 1st Class?

they should make a part 4 where 2 and 3 never happened. A virus was in the Matrix (glitch) which caused Neo to think it all happened but didn't.

Part 4 is him eliminating the virus. part 5 is him coming to terms with the fact he isn't as badass as he thought (dark days for the rebellion etc) and part 6 is him ultimately basically doing what was talked about in part 2 but only better.... or something.

So X-Men First Class is actually The Matrix 4?

I walked out of Matrix 2 on opening day during the rave scene. I am convinced that scene is still going at the theater.

Re: Matrix 4- Taking a page from XMen 1st Class?

As much as I am into the the first film, and can tolerate parts of the 2nd & 3rd, I wouldn't get excited about a 4th film. I have a room full of Matrix toys, busts, figures and posters but I just don't want to revisit that world. Can't really get excited about anything the Wachowski siblings help to create, plan, direct, film, kickstart, blog about, dream up, fund, or promote.

This. Are they talking about The Animatrix, 'cause that was pretty cool, but I didn't think any of those short films were considered to be specific sequels to The Matrix.
They should make those first.
Nah, it sounds like a great idea to expand the universe into a franchise, but I have a feeling it wouldn't turn out too well.

Re: Matrix 4- Taking a page from XMen 1st Class?

I've never seen two sequels that torpedoed a cinematic franchise more than Reloaded and Revolutions. Not even Superman III and IV did as much damage to the Superman movie franchise overall (we're getting a new Supes movie after all), but I think we can stick a fork in The Matrix Universe--its done forever.

I watched the sequels recently and didn't hate them as much as I originally did.

Well see Superman has it easy. Superman is literally based on a well known property, at least at face value and recognition. It has a much easier chance to redeem itself than something like the Matrix.

I dunno. 2 has some horrible parts but is somewhat interesting with its expansion of the universe. Unfortunately that's only around 10 minutes of the movie. Also too many people say vis-a-vis now.

3 is total shit. Virtually unwatchable.

Re: Matrix 4- Taking a page from XMen 1st Class?

The only thing I like watching is the actual fighting in the Matrix, for Revolutions. Till the part where Smith and Neo fight in that crater they made. Hate Zion's fight. That was boring. Hated The Kid especially...
