Canadian horror/thriller, written, directed and produced by the Soska sisters ("Dead Hooker in a Trunk"), starring Katharine Isabelle ("Ginger Snaps") as Mary.

"Mary is a medical student who is growing increasingly broke and disenchanted with medical school and the established doctors she once idolized. The allure of easy money sends a desperate Mary through the messy world of underground surgeries which leaves more marks on her than the so-called freakish clientele."

The film has gotten very good reviews at different (horror) film festivals in Europe, Canada and the US. I hope it gets a wider release.

Caught this at last year's Toronto After Dark and enjoyed it immensely. It's a little too long, but Isabelle's performance is great and the Soska's are terrific writers/directors.

I saw it on UK DVD, and I pretty much agree with Addi88 and the above review. The film is too long and I found the second half uneven and meandering. Still, Katharine Isabelle's performance manages to keep everything together and gore hounds should enjoy it.

katherine isabelle is gorgeous in this and wears next to nothing in most scenes (but still doesn't show anything). the movie isn't very good though.
