Re: Fringe Season 5
Where's the bargain? $40 for a pre-order of a 13-episode season when S1-4 of Fringe have been as cheap as $18 isn't remotely a deal.

Re: Fringe Season 5
I'm sure that there will be a sale price on the 5th season, too. Anyone who buys TV shows on DVD or Blu Ray regularly should know it's a sucker's bet to buy them out of the gate. They can always be had cheaper with a couple of months patience, and referencing this forum for when those prices are happening.

Yes, if we all wait 10-25 years, this isn't a deal, and I can proudly give these seasons to my grand children, telling them how cheap I got them.
However, if you're a fan of Fringe, this isn't a bad price. Average, but not bad. Best Buy is selling it for $39.99 I think.

Best Buy's release price for Season 4 was $39.99. Given that this is quite a few less episodes, hopefully release week pricing is cheaper, but I guess we'll see.

What would happen if everyone started a thread on their "fan of [] show" thread and used your excuse?
$39.99 for 13 episodes is a rip off. Even at 22 episodes this wouldn't be a deal.

Sometimes "reminder" posts are more irritating than the initial post itself.
If you think 13 episodes is a rip, try 10 episodes that are 27mins each, of Hung S1. Thank God I only paid 4.39 for it, because anything more and I'd be shipping that sucker back to WB.

Could always just ignore the post. But I don't see my response as an excuse.

Hung would actually be a good deal since it's episodes are from a Premium network and not normal, free television. The Third Season, when it came out, was only around $29.99 IIRC. Pretty decent deal for the reasons I mentioned above.

I'm a fan of Fringe but I'd never pay $40 for a 22 episode season let alone a 13 episode season. I paid $9.99 for S4 on BF, if it comes down to it, I'll wait until I can pick up S5 for $10 or $15 (if I can't get it any other way). $40 is WAY too much for a 13 episode season.....of anything.

Re: Fringe Season 5
Any word on a complete series box set? I've held off picking up the individual seasons for hope/fear they'd eventually release a complete set that had some kind of exclusive content (i.e. Lost, Alias, Stargate SG-1, etc.).

Well, damn. One of the very few things I would actually watch the extras for...being that there are none will make it easy not to purchase, seeing as I have 1-4 as it is.
